You matter.*** During a period of almost three months in 1965, Sylvia Likens was abused and tortured by Gertrude Baniszewski, the woman Sylvia and her sister were left in the care of, many of Gertrude's children, and several other neighborhood children, before ultimately passing away due to her injuries and malnourishment on October 26, 1965. In June of 2011, Lauren was preparing for her bar exam to become a lawyer in the state of Georgia. After several days of not hearing from her, and assuming she was studying, her friends and family began to worry. They'd discover an empty apartment and Lauren nowhere to be found. Once investigators arrive the next morning, they make a horrific discovery.
