He is also a best-selling author of the book "BLUEFISHING - the art of making things happen”, a sought-after consultant, and a speaker at a variety of networks, groups, and associations. The core of his philosophy focuses on simple, yet effective ways to sharpen the mind and gain practical skills that can help you learn a new perspective and accomplish anything. Listen in as they discuss:Steve’s journey to successAddressing a real or perceived problem you haveHow to get the influencers to acknowledge youTips you need to solve your problemMaking the impossible possibleAnd, more!Steve also share with us his most challenging A-list celebrity encounter and the worst advice he has seen or heard given in his area of expertise. We are in a world where far too many people are focusing on what they look like rather than what they solve ~ Steve SimsTIP OF THE WEEKMark: My tip of the week is learn more about Steve Sims, get the book BlueFishing: The Art of Making Things Happen and go to stevedsims.com. He's got a podcast, and of course, get the books!Scott: I just want everybody to take from this podcast what they want. One of the things I get from this podcast and it kind of aligns with what Steve said that solidifies it, and that is, everybody does something because they have a problem, everybody is looking and calling you about their land because they have a problem. So figure out how to solve their problem and the minute you solve their problem, you will not have any issues with money or sales. You just try solving out what problem they're trying to solve. Solve it!Steve: My tip is 'Challenge Yourself'. I think the trouble is we get into the rough and I constantly challenge myself. Challenging yourself doesn't mean you get into deals that are expensive. It could be listening to the different radio stations, it could be like trying an appetizer on a restaurant that you don't know what it is, it could be like turning left when you're supposed to turn right just to see the area of your neighborhood looks like. When you try something different, it gets your mind engages and builds up a habit that triggers like "oh, we're trying new things", in which you become open with new things. Try something different with low liability, low cost, and get your head to engage in building a habit to be open.WANT TO LISTEN MORE?Did you like this episode? TIP OF THE WEEKMark: For this week's tip, I’ve discovered a software engineer, Garrett Spong who gave Tate and me an incredible tip in Jamaica. It's an app called Signal. Garrett works in the security industry, it turns out that those messaging apps are not so secure. This is end-to-end encryption, you can do lots of different things. You can verify who you are chatting with. Signal is a cool app, it does everything that iMessage does, but it has phenomenal security encryption.Want To Listen More?Did you enjoy this episode? We work in a remote environment and we don’t really bond, what if we could do Team-Bonding through Zoom. Check out the link, arc.dev/w/remote-game, if you go there for free, you can download a remote game called The Hike. Basically, it says 60-90 minutes, choose your own adventure path. The teams make decisions, they attempt to stay alive and have a good time in the process, get to work together, and get to know each other.Gene: My tip is this 80/20 Sales and Marketing book by Perry Marshall, one of the things I struggled with personally is growing my business and even in Real Estate I’m getting the sense that for the symbol of Real Estate Agents, in my area it’s $68M a year in sales for Real Estate Agents are closed by me. It’s the sealing, and what I mean by that is that one person to handle that business sort of running out of time, If you’re not in Real Estate and if you’re selling land or you’re in a restaurant business, I want you to think about what do you think you’re sealing is. That sealing is “when and why am I running” and I start to realize that this is not what I got in this business because I’m working too many hours and I can’t seem to surpass this number. When you get to that point, read chapters 15 and 16 in this book and keep it real simple.WANT TO LISTEN MORE?Did you like this episode? How To Get Beautiful Images For Your Listings And Do You Need Them?
Joining Mark this week are:Mike ZainoScott BossmanErik PetersonTeria HarrisTate LitchfieldScott ToddListen in as they go around the table and share how they gather pictures and videos for their listings. They also discuss whether or not pictures are an all-time necessity to market a property and on what occasions can an aerial view or GIS image of the property be used for marketing.TIP OF THE WEEKTeria: My tip is for pictures, a website that has a really good quality called unsplash.com, they're free. You can download them. You can find that they may represent your property as long as you are clear in the property details. Another thing that we've done, we had someone go out to the property and take a video of it, and then create pictures from the video. We just run the video and take a screenshot. So we do hire someone to go out and take pictures and videos.Want To Listen More?Did you enjoy this episode?
