Could you imagine eating 4000 calories while still losing weight?
Sounds impossible...
But that's exactly what Jason Wittrock did on his 21 day 4k calorie challenge.
He was eating over 400 grams of fat and LOST 2 POUNDS!
How is this possible? If weight loss is just calories in vs calories out then he should've become clinically obese and get heart disease
But he did it on the ketogenic diet which allowed him to burn all of that fat for energy

How to Eat Carbs on Keto Without Losing Keto-Adaptation
You have to hear this SHOCKING NEWS...
Fat isn't bad for your health
Most likely you already knew that
But the real kicker is that...
Carbs aren't bad for your health either...
Don’t get me wrong – most people would benefit dramatically by lowering their carbohydrate intake
And you WANT TO be in a fat burning ketogenic state the majority of the time

You'd greatly benefit from using some carbs in certain scenarios
This will promote metabolic flexibility, prevent food intolerances and promote performance
There are 2 ways of consuming carbohydrates on the ketogenic diet
Cyclical Ketogenic Diet (CKD) - you eat keto for a given period and then have a carb refeed
Targeted Ketogenic Diet (TKD) - you eat keto all the time and have a small dose of carbs during workouts
Both the CKD and TKD are viable ways of boosting your performance, improving your metabolic flexibility and upregulating the metabolism.

Neuroplasticity of Motivation and Discipline
Are you motivated? Do you feel inspired? Is it needed for you to first watch a ton of motivational videos and quotes before you can take action?
Social media and the modern world, in particular, are inducive of the "motivation guilt trip"
Basically - feeling the need to be motivated and inspired in order to start taking action, to get things done and to stay consistent with your goals
MOTIVATION IS A HUGE PRIVILEGE
You shouldn't feel motivated before you get out of your bed
You shouldn't feel motivated for staying disciplined with your habits
You shouldn't feel motivated to do the right thing no matter the situation
A gazelle can't choose to feel motivated when running away from a lion
So you shouldn't take motivation as something guaranteed or essential
You have to develop the proactive ability to be able to take action despite how you feel or how motivated you are

How to Start the Ketogenic Diet

This episode will give you the basics of ketosis and eating keto.
Welcome to the Body Mind Empowerment Podcast with Siim Land. Today I wanted to talk about nutrition and ketosis in particular.
In a nutshell -
Ketosis is a metabolic state, in which the body has shifted from using glucose as the primary fuel source for supplying its energy demands with ketone bodies.
You can induce ketosis
by fasting for around 3 days or
by eating a low carb ketogenic diet with around 30-50 grams NET carbohydrates per day for several weeks
There are many benefits to ketosis, such as improved biomarkers, reduced inflammation, mental clarity, more energy, easier fat loss and anti-aging
I’ve been doing keto for almost 3 years and I must say it has drastically increased my ability to stay energized and focused for long periods of time without having to eat or get sidetracked by hunger
