881. Listener Q&A: How To Prepare For The Unknown, Bring Your Vision To Life And Expand Into Bigger Networks

We’re answering listener questions today about how to prepare for the unknown, what it’s like to go from concept to launch, and simple ways to get noticed by the people that inspire you. I explain how I do my ‘if this, then that’ exercise to be more solution-oriented and take action instead of sitting in the surprise. Lauren and I discuss what goes into a pitch deck, when we think it’s better to bootstrap vs. raise startup money, and how to make strategic hires that can help bring your vision to life and protect your energy. We also share how we’ve gotten into the rooms that stretch and inspire us, and our tips for how to expand into bigger networks.  IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT: How we’ve learned to expect the unexpected  Being grateful for challenges  Reflecting on how you handle rejection  What a ‘minimum run’ is and how to figure that number out  How to connect with leaders who are in the industry that you want to be in   RESOURCES Sign up for The Spritz newsletter at litepink.com! 879. Stop Being Responsible For Others’ Emotions And Experiences

When you’re at an event and you notice that someone is clearly not having a good time, what’s your reaction? If you’re anything like I used to be, you would take yourself out of the fun and try and shift that person’s energy, solve their problems, and ultimately, bring your own mood down. This might be a major wakeup call for some of you who don’t even realize that you’re doing this and fall into patterns of feeling responsible for other people’s emotions. When you start to take full ownership over your own feelings and reactions, that is one of the most powerful places that you can be in. This is a lifetime practice, but I’m sharing some tips on how I’ve been able to implement this in my life and the major changes that I’ve seen as a result of shifting out of my people-pleasing tendencies.  IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT: Why you can only be responsible for your own emotions and reactions  What tends to happen when you try to control the energy in a room How to be friendly while also maintaining your boundaries  Reflecting on why you might fall into these patterns  Overcoming the potential discomfort that can come with this practice   RESOURCES Thanks to Storyworth for supporting Earn Your Happy. 878. Why Less Is More When It Comes To Systems And Workflows

We’ve been getting alot of DMs about how we keep track of and organize our ideas, plans, and projects. Lauren and I are diving in on the tech systems that we use, how we prioritize tasks, and why we keep things as simple and user-friendly as possible. It might surprise people to hear that we rely on Google Drive for just about everything, but Lauren is a master at building out progress trackers and dashboards that keep everyone dialed in on what they need to be doing. She also is great at keeping tabs on bigger-picture items. I share how I personally organize the notes section on my phone, and why it’s so important to sit with your ideas for a little bit instead of sharing every single thought with your team. We also highlight why it’s so important to niche down and start with a very focused vision, even when you have big dreams for your company.  IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT: Figuring out which ideas are worth pursuing, and which ones can be put on the back burner How we keep track of contacts who have offered help or a favor in the past  Learning how to become more organized as an ideator  Our flagging process with emails  Limiting distractions within our workflows and systems  Integrating Simon Sinek’s Start With Why approach   Simplifying our opt-in plan   RESOURCES Sign up for The Spritz newsletter at litepink.com! 877. 3 Ways We Have Created Our Dream Life (That You Can Do Too!)

Chris and I had this moment on our walk through our new neighborhood in Newport where we realized that we’re building the life that we always dreamed of. We want to share the formula that we’ve used to get here, and even though it’ll look different for everyone, these tips can help you get to where you want to be no matter where that is. Not only do you have to have outlandish and legacy-building dreams, but you have to surround yourself with people who have the same mindset. You’re going to bump up against family and friends who think that you’re going against their lifestyle, but it’s important to remind yourself that you’re becoming the best version of yourself. You also have to be willing to make investments that stretch you, whether it’s in yourself through programs and mentors, or your finances through stocks and assets.  IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT: What we do to keep our dreams alive everyday  The struggles of going against family patterns Addressing people who told us we were getting caught up in the ‘California lifestyle’  Choosing to hold yourself to higher standards and bigger dreams  Why you can’t reach your goals by playing it safe   RESOURCES Sign up for The Spritz newsletter at litepink.com!
