Show Notes: Today I’m talking about the side effects of following your calling. But first I want to talk about the side effects of not following your calling. If you’re not taking actions that support your highest self, you get resentful toward yourself, the people that you love of other people and people who are inspiring to you. You feel anger, anxiety, isolation, comparison, and depression. The most important thing you can do is to really take note of how you're holding yourself back and learn to move forward. But moving forward isn’t pain-free either. You’ll feel discomfort and massive fear. You’ll make new friends and mentors but they won’t let you hide. You’ll lose people along the way. But at the end of your life you won’t be wishing you’d done things differently. I hope today’s quickie serves as a reminder or way for you to be able to get back to the heart-centered reason of WHY you’re working on your dreams. Earn Your Happy is a production of Crate Media

426: When you KNOW you can't keep doing the same thing
In This Episode You Will Learn About: How I got rejected so many times pitching for fitness covers The ways in which I used to self-sabotage What happened when I invested in something I could not afford Why I’ve created EventLuv with Lindsey Schwartz Resources: eventluv.com The Bliss Project 2020 Show Notes: On my run this morning something triggered my memory back to when I was in the fitness world but hadn’t started doing self-development work. I was binge eating and telling myself stories about why I wasn't good enough to do this work. I knew I had greatness inside of me, but I didn’t know what shape or form I would share it in. I put a training program on my credit card and showed up at that event so freaked out, but it totally paid off. Now I’ve created a 5-day workshop called EventLuv to teach the next generation of speakers, leaders and teachers how to create transformational experiences. The event is in January 2020 and the Earlybird price ends September 30. We’ll cover so many things including: How do you protect your energy in the room? How do you walk through the hallways to get to the bathroom without getting involved in a conversation that could really drain you or deeply affect you before you get back on stage? What do you charge for your event? How do you plan to make a profit? How do you know if your audience is even receptive to events? Earn Your Happy is a production of Crate Media

424: How to cultivate, master and express your creativity with Chase Jarvis
In This Episode You Will Learn About: Chris and Lori’s course, Become Aligned Lindsay Schwartz and Lori’s 5-day immersive workshop on how to run profitable events, retreats or masterminds Chase’s new book, Creative Calling
Learning to listen to our inner voice Toxic myths about creativity Creating a place for your work to land Protecting your mornings Making money from things which are rooted in play and joy Resources: Creative Calling CreativeLive.com Instagram: @chasejarvis
Show Notes: In second grade Chase Jarvis loved doing stand-up comedy and produced a weekly comic book strip. Then one day at the parent teacher conference he overheard his teacher telling his mom that he was so much better at sports than he was at art. Because we gravitate to where we get rewarded, he became an athlete, went to college on a soccer scholarship and made the Olympic Development Program soccer team. Then, a week before Chase graduated college, his grandfather died from a heart attack and left Chase his cameras. Chase started teaching himself how to take pictures and that led to his career as one of the most influential photographers of the past decade, the developer of the first photo app to share images to social networks and the founder of CreativeLive. Now Chase is on a mission to break down myths about what creativity is and who can practice it. He says that when we look at all the decisions we make every day - what you're going to have for dinner, what business that you're going to build - as creative acts, that’s when we understand that we have the agency to create our lives. Question Highlights: How did you come to think of yourself as creative? How do you protect your creative time? How do make space for creativity when you really need to be making money? Guest Bio: Chase Jarvis is an award-winning artist, entrepreneur, and one of the most influential photographers of the past decade. He has created campaigns for Apple, Nike, Red Bull and others, was a contributor to the Pulitzer-winning New York Times story Snowfall, and earned an Emmy nomination for his documentary Portrait of a City. He also created Best Camera--the first photo app to share images to social networks, and is the Founder of CreativeLive, where more than 10 million students learn photography, video, design, music and business from the world's top creators and entrepreneurs. He's a keynote speaker, an advisor to Fortune 100 brands, and has been a guest at the Obama White House, the United Nations, the Library of Congress, 10 Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, and the DIFC in Dubai. 423: Your dream won’t happen until you do this
In This Episode You Will Learn About: Lindsay Schwartz and Lori’s 5-day immersive workshop on how to run profitable events, retreats or masterminds Making decisions and burning the boats Being OK with disappointing people Resources: eventluv.com The Bliss Project 2020 Show Notes: Today I’m talking about making decisions. To actually make a decision you have to put skin in the game, say no to things and schedule your calendar so that it’s aligned with your dreams. Lately I've been fierce about making sure that I have room in my calendar for all of my new projects. And I am so proud of myself because, looking back at last year, I had a calendar full of things that I didn't necessarily want to do. I was more reacting to life than actually taking time to think if it was something that would move the needle forward. I was doing things because I didn't want to say no and hurt people's feelings. But you have to say no to things in order to create space for your dreams. I hope today’s quickie serves as a reminder or way for you to be able to get back to the heart-centered reason of WHY you’re working on your dreams. Earn Your Happy is a production of Crate Media
