EP.22: Secrets in the Small Hours - A Conversation with Tony Oppedisano

FRANK SINATRA. Come Fly with Me, My Way, Fly Me to the Moon...these are all classic songs by an icon that we know and love. We know his films, his albums, we might even know his marriage history, his family and his scandals...but what do we really know about the man himself? FRANK SINATRA is to this day one of the most influential and iconic musicians to grace this planet, and on this week’s episode, Alan and Joey are talking to a man that knew him better than most – TONY OPPEDISANO. Tony met Frank back in 1972 and from that fateful night until the day he died, they were inseparable. Tony held many roles in Frank’s life: member of his management team, confidant, but most importantly, dear friend. Tony’s new and poignant book SINATRA AND ME: IN THE WEE SMALL HOURS, publishes this very week, and Two Guys from Hollywood is giving you an EXCLUSIVE look into his world. This book has been decades in the making - ever since Tony promised Frank that one day he’d right the wrongs said about him in the press, and share the real stories. In this incredible episode, Tony shares inside stories about Frank, their time together, and what it was like to walk, live and drink alongside one of the greatest musicians to ever perform. Tony addresses Frank's career, his marriages, his fears, his dreams, and gives us his opinion on the answer to a highly controversial question: is Ronan Farrow Frank Sinatra’s son? From the man who knew all Frank’s secrets, you’ll have to listen to believe it. Tony is a natural-born storyteller and his memory is extremely sharp, which is why he is the perfect guest for our theme today: Secrets in the Small Hours. So grab a drink, take a seat, and enjoy this trip down memory lane, into a beautiful and - until now - exclusive friendship. This week enjoy the COME FLY WITH ME. Find the full recipe and more on @twoguysfromhollywood on Instagram, and @TGFHPodcast on Twitter and Facebook. Cheers! EP.21: Hello Art, Meet Social Media - A Conversation with Tom Bancroft

On this week’s episode, Alan and Joey are talking to veteran animator, and CEO of Pencilish Animation Studios, Tom Bancroft. Tom worked as an animator at Disney for over 10 years and is the man responsible for one of the most beloved Disney characters of all time: MUSHU from Mulan! He talks about his journey with this character and what it was like working with Eddie Murphy (oh, and you’ll never guess which two actors almost got the role.) Tom is the perfect guest for our theme this week: Hello Art, Meet Social Media, as he’s launched a viral drawing / animation challenge called #MERMAY with over 28 million participants via his company Pencilish, which challenges artists across the globe to create a mermaid everyday for the month of May, with one winner selected at the end. Tom understands the importance of incorporating social media into his work and his company, and has found new and interesting ways to do so, even beyond the #MERMAY2021challenge. Tom has set up one of the first crown-funded animation studios and he goes into detail about all of this in the episode - you don’t want to miss it. EP.20: Murder! Scandal! Conspiracy! - A Conversation with Suzanne Finstad

Buckle up! This week Alan and Joey are talking to acclaimed author, journalist and biographer Suzanne Finstad about one of our juiciest themes to date: HOLLYWOOD UNCOVERED. There are many famous murders, scandals and conspiracies that are sewn within the fabric of Hollywood as we know it today, and this week, we’re diving into a few that Suzanne knows everything about. Remember Howard Hughes? Well, he died “without an heir” and at the tender age of 20, Suzanne’s first job at a law firm was to find those related to him to get an idea of who would inherit all his money. What Suzanne found was layer upon layer of cover-ups, illegal activity, and lies that, if exposed, would put major players in jail all the way up to the White House. Days before she was to testify in court, she was beaten in her home and left for dead. Now, she’s telling the story that WASN’T included in her book, HEIR NOT APPARENT. We then jump to the infamous relationship between Elvis and a then 14-year-old Priscilla Presley, all detailed in her book CHILD BRIDE. Why the taboo title? You’ll have to listen to find out. Suzanne’s latest book, THE COMPLETE BIOGRAPHY OF NATALIE WOOD, includes detailed, well researched - and quite honestly shocking - new pages that reveal the truth about what happened that night on the boat with Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken. Was her death really an accident? Or one of the biggest cover-ups Hollywood has ever participated in? As always, we have a guest-inspired cocktail of the week! This week enjoy the LEMON BURST. Find the full recipe and more on @twoguysfromhollywood on Instagram, and @TGFHPodcast on Twitter and Facebook. EP.19: From Seed to Spark - A Conversation with Iginio Straffi

Join Alan and Joey this week as they discuss swap meets, a surprise trip to Vegas, and our theme this week: from SEED to SPARK. So many of the great movies and television shows we see are created by people who have worked tirelessly for years, sometimes decades, to build a company and develop material that is meaningful and brings them success and notoriety. Our guest this week knows all about this process - planting a seed and watching it grow into something spectacular - and he is Iginio Straffi, joining all the way from Italy. Iginio is the head of Rainbow Studios and the creator of the hit animated series WINX CLUB and the recent live action remake FATE: THE WINX SAGA which took Netflix by storm earlier this year. Who doesn’t love a dark academia fairy magic show?? Iginio explains the seed of this idea, and how he always knew it would become a franchise with a live-action adaptation. He talks about his process, his company, and his vision early on for the WINX cannon, and why it came to fruition. And don’t worry, of course we asked him about the highly anticipated season 2! Listen to find out what he reveals. As always, we have a guest-inspired cocktail of the week! This week enjoy the DESTINO SPRITZ. Find the full recipe and more on @twoguysfromhollywood on Instagram, and @TGFHPodcast on Twitter and Facebook. Cheers! EP.18: The Power to Change the World - A Conversation with Sonia Nassery Cole

This week on Two Guys from Hollywood, we’re talking about pushing boundaries. These boundaries might mean the measurements of your pants after you’ve eaten incredible Italian food for a week, or, the way creators, innovators and artists bring their projects to life. From Anthony Bourdain to *someone’s* waistline, we’re covering it all. Joining the conversation is the one and only Sonia Nassery Cole. Sonia is an extremely talented filmmaker, philanthropist, author and human rights activist – not to mention a great friend. Sonia knows everything about pushing boundaries as she was granted political asylum in the United States from Afghanistan as a teenager, and went on to work with President Ronald Regan to aid in the defeat of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. Yes, you read that correctly. If the President of the most powerful nation in the world looks you dead in the eye and asks: “One person has the power to change the world. Do you want to be that person?,” what would you do? Tune in to hear her incredible story, how she made her first feature film THE BLACK TULIP (which was selected as Afghanistan’s official selection for the Academy Awards!) and learn not just about the history of the tumultuous relationship between the US and her home country, but all about her new film set to release this month, I AM YOU. EP.15: Dangerous Beauty - A Conversation with Bruce Hulse

On this week’s episode, we’re talking about the difference between inner and outer beauty, and how one affects the other. The entertainment industry is a place filled with beautiful people from actors to models to influencers, but does outer beauty automatically lead to a happy and healthy life? Joining the conversation is male model and photographer Bruce Hulse. Ever wonder what it’s like to be in an airport lounge with Tina Turner while someone mistakes her for Aretha Franklin? Well, you’ll hear all about Joey’s experience and other great Tina stories, along with Alan and Joey’s thoughts on her new documentary. They also dive into the new Gucci movie starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, and what Alan’s client Patricia Gucci *really* thinks of the whole thing (spoiler: she’s not pleased with certain elements). Richard is the author of 9 novels, one of which, ALTERED CARBON, was made into a hit Netflix series of the same name. They talk world building, his process (or lack thereof) and what it’s like to be a consultant on a tv show adapted from something that started as an idea inside your head.
