Dan Peña - The 50 Billion Dollar Man

As the high speed train wound its way up the English coast and onto the seas of Scotland I passed the hours by studying the man whom I would soon meet again, Dan Peña. I perused his full dossier: biography, newsletters, videos, and speeches looking for something that would tell me more about the man that I could not yet fully understand. But was I studying my enemy or my future mentor?Six months earlier I had the dubious honour of welcoming the "50 Billion Dollar Man" into my studio in Shoreditch in East London for a two hour interview where I was both repulsed and fascinated by his many accomplishments and accolades. I declared on camera that the London Realers would either "Love him or Hate him" and the subsequent 50,000 views racked up on YouTube quickly answered my question. They loved Dan Peña.

Eric Thomas - The Hip Hop Preacher REDUX

The Hip Hop Preacher Eric Thomas sat down in May 2013 with Spoken Word Artist Suli Breaks and Brian Rose to talk about his viral video "When you want to Succeed as Bad as you want to Breathe", why he thinks that each one of the 86,400 seconds in a day is worth pursuing for excellence, how he hates "average" and loathes "good", and how he would like to be remembered when he's gone.

Brian Rose - Becoming London Real

They say that if you live ong enough, sooner or later you get to see a little bit of everything and this week you get to see something I never expected, but what the hell we made it happen, and that's me. Brian Rose in the hot seat, in the guest chair at London Real, having to answer pretty much anything that is being asked of me. It was a very unique episode and I hope you enjoy it; I have a funny feeling you are either going to love it or hate it. I was brutally honest about many things about my past, some of my shortcomings, probably more about my shortcomings than any successes I have had because that's more my style. I talked about my move to London, the creation of the show, what happened with Nic, whether this is avibale business etc. It's London Real so if I can't sit here an be real I have no business producing the show every week. I was very fortunate to have my good friend Suli Breaks interview me and that was important, it couldn't just have been me talking to the camera or talking to someone I didn't give a shit about, I needed to tell the story to a person. Suli was a good interviewer, he was really curious and is a lot younger than me. He asked me some questions about when I was on Wall Street and what I was doing, why I was so obsessed with making money...really good questions, I am really glad he was there. It's really funny being in the guest chair, all those lights down, it's very intimate. You can go in thinking you might talk about certain things and not others but once you get going its almost out of your control. I finally have empathy with my guests, some of them have sat down with me and told me of their worry of saying something they didn't want to but at the time I dismissed it. It's actually not that easy, once you get flowing in the conversation and people ask you questions it's hard not to answer. Much sympathy and empathy with any of my former guests who answered things that maybe they didn't want to. You'll either love me or hate me more after this, and that's ok. It's all about the realness and the expression and there is something beautiful about the Truth

Ayah Marar - Hussle Girl

On my first meeting with Ayah Marar I got such a warm embrace of positive, maternal energy it felt like my mother, my sister, and Suzy the shaman all rolled up in one!My expectations of the singer/songwriter who tours with the world famous Calvin Harris were quickly dashed and I felt like I was hanging out with a long-time friend. She is humble, honest and real....all the right ingredients for the best episodes of London Real. Moving from Jordan to London at age 18 she quickly got involved in the London music scene and met a very young Calvin Harris whom she would later go on to collaborate with. She tours relentlessly and released her first album "The Real" on her own label, Hustle Girl. Ayah is a woman wise beyond her years and has a maternal energy I rarely see these days. I could quote her for days: "London is the place where anybody can come to start." "If something is real, you'll know it, you'll feel it." "It's the tiniest of things about us that are so important." "If I could live my life on stage, I would." "When you get to the top there is nowhere else to go, so why are you in a rush?" Please join me in welcoming Ayah Marar to the London Real family.
