Bob had a great conversation w/ Charles Glass, who was the ABC News correspondent from the Middle East throughout the 80s and 90s, and has written countless books and articles about the region. Dov is the co-founder of Who Profits from the Occupation and of the Coalition of Women for Peace in Israel. She is a feminist scholar and teacher who has taught about militarism and the global economy from a feminist perspective in Israeli and U.S. universities. He was the first investigative journalist to be named a TED Senior Fellow, and his TED talks on anti-protest laws and secret prisons have been viewed nearly 10 million times. We’ve long known that the fossil fuel industry, and front groups like the Western States Petroleum Association, has created a system of denial and disinformation to prevent the public from knowing the full extent of the damage they’ve inflicted on the climate. But new revelations show that their knowledge goes back to the 1950s. Now, as the city of Los Angeles is burning, and a president who calls climate change a “hoax” is about to re-enter office, these revelations are more important than ever. In the first of a series of episodes that we are calling “Climate in the Age of Trump,” we talk with researcher Rebecca John with the Climate Investigation Center to discuss these findings.
