We are back at it again and recently had the opportunity of playing Game Designer’s Workshop's classic old gem Traveller from 1977 with none other than Anders Blixt, a true titan in the Swedish RPG industry, as our Gamemaster. Anders joined the podcast last year to talk about his MERP module “The Kin-strife” and is the man behind such Swedish classics as the legendary Drakar och Demoner Expert. We had the amazing opportunity to play the classic Dungeons & Dragons module “B6 – The Veiled Society” from 1984, together with our friends at the Ennie-award winning old school RPG podcast ”Fear of Black Dragon”. The setting for the module is the city of Specularum in Mystara, where three powerful families are vying for power. Interestingly enough this is a hard-boiled detective story where the player characters have to solve a murder and avoid becoming victims of the scheming machinations of the three families. The adventure was written by David “Zeb” Cook who would later on create the amazing Planescape setting. One of our absolute favorite settings for Dungeons & Dragons is undoubtedly Planescape. The twisting, dark streets of the city of Sigil, the beauty and weirdness of the multiverse and the horrors of the nine hells all come together in to a wonderful whole that has enchanted us since playing Planescape: Torment back in the nineties. Together with our friends at Adventure Hook and Blackspire Studios we have created this actual play of the classic Planescape adventure “To Ba’ator and Back” which is featured in the “Well of Worlds” module. We are playing AD&D 2nd edition and the adventure begins in Blackspire’s world Terregastia, where a manhunt is under way. Production has been done by the talented Robert Randle at Blackspire and you are in for a real treat over the coming seven weeks. One of the most exciting things about this project is that Beamdog have kindly given us permission to use the original soundtrack for Planescape: Torment.
