Blood Red: Trent Alexander-Arnold in for Euro 2020 along with Jordan Henderson
Trent Alexander-Arnold HAS been named in the England squad that will compete at Euro 2020 this summer, with Gareth Southgate selecting the Liverpool full-back in his 26-player contingent. Guy Clarke is joined by Paul Gorst and Matt Addison as they discuss why Southgate appears to have changed his mind after Alexander-Arnold was left out of the last England squad in March, plus why it makes so much sense for the 22-year-old to be selected. They also debate whether Alexander-Arnold could be used in a midfield role for his country, which has been suggested by some as a major factor in his inclusion in the squad, with Reece James, Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker also all picked by the England boss. England's Euro 2020 campaign begins on Sunday, June 13 when they take on Croatia at Wembley. Despite starting the Champions League Final against Chelsea, Sterling has been linked with a move away from the Etihad with both Jack Grealish and Harry Kane reportedly of interest to Pep Guardiola. The Bottom Line: Why FSG are looking at multi-club model and what it might mean for Liverpool and transfers
Dave Powell is joined by sports lawyer, author and Reds fan Daniel Geey for the latest edition of The Bottom Line podcast – the podcast which goes in-depth on football finances... and Liverpool Football Club’s particular. The main topic of debate is the multi-club model operated by the likes of Manchester City and the Red Bull group – and with FSG having done a £530m deal with Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital Partners, it now seems Liverpool are set to follow suit. But what are the benefits and what are the headaches of owning a stable of clubs across the globe? Daniel goes into detail about that before focusing on the Premier League new television rights deal and what could happen when it runs out in 2025. There’s also a look at the example of returning Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi and the fascinating thing to look out for in this summer’s transfer window.
