The CEO Mindset

Mindset + Vision Equals living your dream   Your vision board party ideas will only get you so far, your mindset is the key to seeing the vision come to life. Every year, my family and I would watch The Wizard of Oz (and later, The Wiz).  When I became an adult, and started coaching people, I used these stories.  The helped me illustrate some of the principles I teach.  Dorothy had a dream, we come to find out at the end of the movie, but she only realized this fact AFTER she realized she was the key to everything. Mindset played a huge role in her getting to Oz.  Dorothy had to overcome 3 main obstacles to reach Emerald City. She faced them all by understanding the problem and her role in fixing it.  The scarecrow, the tin man, and the lion were roadblocks she encountered.  Instead of giving up, she supplemented her vision with the right mindset. Isn’t it funny how our vision can feel like a dream at times?  It’s easy to feel like the vision won’t be realized when obstacles get in the way.  Mindset is the antidote. So, I thought I would share the story of My Why with you in this episode. I realize I haven't been as clear as I've wanted to be about what I do. Hopefully this episode will make it plain for you. Here's the thing as I'm writing these show notes, I'm frantically trying to get myself together to fly home (to NC).  My father's health is failing.  He was admitted into the ER this morning.  That said, I'm going to keep these notes short. Thistlewood Farms & KariAnne Wood Influencer, Author, Speaker (and my friend) When you meet someone who makes you feel so comfortable you immediately call them friend, you know you’ve found a treasure.  I don’t use the word friend lightly but I’m definitely using it with my guest this week.  I met KariAnne during an event hosted by The Allen/Fairview Chamber of Commerce.  She was a speaker at there and boy did she light up the room with here bubbly personality. Prepare For The New Year Enter this year with the right mindset   Like every other year, I thought I knew how to prepare for the new year.  I was WRONG!!! At the end of last year I had to face some hard truths.  It wasn’t a fun experience so I thought I would spare you the pain and share my tips for entering a year with the right mindset. Notice I said MINDSET, not resolutions. There’s a reason for that.  The term Resolution, to some, is interchangeable with the term goal.  On average people are likely to give up on their goals by the 19th of January.  I believe this is because they don’t know what they don’t know.  It takes a certain mindset to stay the course and pursue your goals.  You have to adopt a certain attitude.  An attitude based on what you believe about yourself and your abilities. In this episode I’m expounding on a video I did last week.  If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, you definitely should. I give a few tips to prepare for the new year and in this podcast episode, I’m sharing a few more details about my own struggles with an abundance mindset and the attitude adjustments I had to make. Learn from my mistakes.  Don’t let mindset be the reason you don’t achieve your goals. I've come a long way in my business and there are a few areas that stuck out for me, where I felt pleased and relieved about.  I bet you've got some areas you feel the same about.
