Self-Awareness & Microaggressions: When Politeness Becomes a Problem Ever been hit with, You're so articulate, or I don't see color ? These seemingly harmless phrases are examples of microaggressions subtle slights that cut deep, especially when they go unchecked. In this episode, we're peeling back the layers of workplace microaggressions, not with anger but with awareness, boundaries, and bold self-respect. I share a personal moment (yep, it's a little shocking) that sparked a powerful realization: your energy introduces you before you speak, but it doesn't make you immune to bias. Here's what we cover: What microaggressions actually are (spoiler: they're more common than you think) Real examples and why they sting How self-awareness shifts the power dynamic Setting boundaries without guilt Teaching people how to treat you without turning every encounter into a conflict This isn't about calling people out.
