Raised by two Navy veterans, Cutler was destined for the Navy. Their influence led him to the Naval Academy. He thought that he'd go to make his parents happy but could get out if he didn't like it. Thirty eight years later and he finally retired as a Vice Admiral. Immediately after retirement he worked as the president for Navy Federal Credit Union. Fourteen years he spent transforming Navy Federal into one of the most successful financial institutions in the country, quadrupling its size and making it an industry leader in customer service. It was ranked by Fortune magazine as a Best Place to Work for eight years in a row. Author After encouragement from his wife to share his "sea stories" in a book. Dana Spain describes herself as a serial entrepreneur. She gets bored easily and every five years or so is looking for a new endeavor, but the past 10 years she's loved what she's been doing. Volumetric Building Companies was started over 10 years ago, focused on the construction of residential modular construction. Phil Capron, served as a Naval Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman. Upon getting out of the military, Phil found his passion for real estate. Mark Delaney- Founder of The Veteran Professional, Helping You Crush it After the Military Mark joined the Army in 2011. He spent 8 years serving and then decided to get out. Matt "Griff" Griffin was a 2001 West Point graduate. Like many, his life quickly transformed after September 11th of that year. Little did he know it was that day that would give him the opportunity to later co-found Combat Flip Flops. Griff became an Army Ranger and spent four deployments in the Middle East. His time in Afghanistan really shaped his world-view. Eventually he wanted to take his lessons of teamwork and leadership to the entrepreneurial world. Combat Flip Flops A trip to a combat boot factory in Kabul is what compelled Griff to start Combat Flip Flops. He saw the impact that employment had on a community and wanted to continue to positively impact the country of Afghanistan. Eventually the footwear production had to be moved to Colombia, another war-torn country that could benefit from a manufacturing plant. It is this calling that keeps Combat Flip Flops going. A mission to manufacture products in conflict and post conflict areas, creating jobs, funding women's education and ultimately improving people's lives.
