Defining your Treasury Legacy with Chris Fulton

On this episode of the Treasury Career Corner podcast, I’m joined by Chris Fulton, the Chief Financial Officer at Selendy & Gay PLLC. We talk about his treasury career, what it means to be a good mentor and the importance of leaving a legacy of positive change at your place of work.   Chris Fulton is currently Chief Financial Officer of Selendy & Gay, PLLC in New York, NY. Prior to joining Selendy & Gay in 2018, Chris held various senior finance and treasury roles with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, Take-Two Interactive, and Ernst & Young. His career spans over 20 years working alongside some of the world’s largest and most innovative public companies and private corporations as a consultant, and internal business and transaction advisor. He has also been a presenter, as well as an exhibitor, at the AFP Annual conferences and is active in roundtable discussions at the Corporate Treasurers Council.   Chris is on the Board of Directors of the Association For Financial Professionals, where he serves on the Finance Committee. Exploring Cultural Differences in Treasury with Christopher Emslie

We’ve got another great episode of the Treasury Career Corner Podcast where I interview Treasury professionals about their treasury careers. In this episode, I’m delighted to be joined by Christopher Emslie, the Asian Regional Treasurer at General Mills.   Chris Emslie is currently the Asia Regional Treasurer for General Mills and is responsible for all Treasury operations in Asia. Most recently, he was the Country Treasurer for ABB. Chris joined ABB in 2008 first as a SAP consultant for their ERP implementation, then as their Country Credit Manager and finally as their first Country Treasurer looking after South Africa as well as Southern Africa. Chris established the first ABB treasury operation in Southern Africa and spent three years in Singapore as their Country Treasurer.   Chris has held various financial positions in South Africa since 1997 after having completed his articles at a small Audit and Accounting firm in Johannesburg. He has been involved in various companies in the financial sphere including Transport & Freight, Security and IT. I’m thrilled to be joined by Susana Aristizabal, the Assistant Treasurer at Bombardier Transportation on this episode of The Treasury Career Corner podcast. Susana Aristizabal is originally from Colombia. She holds a graduate diploma in International Business from McGill and an MBA from HEC Montreal. She is a Certified Treasury Professional (C.T.P.) and joined Bombardier in July 2005 as a member of the Corporate Treasury department. She moved to Zurich in October 2008 to head the Cash Management team, where she was responsible for the transportation bank account structure and governance of the payment traffic. Her role was expanded in 2011 to include FX risk management and hedge accounting.  Since 2012, Susana is the Assistant Treasurer overseeing Treasury operations, FX Risk Management, Cash Management and Treasury Controlling for the Transportation Group worldwide. Timeless Skills in Treasury with Group Treasurer, Adam Richford

My guest on this episode of the Treasury Career Corner podcast is Adam Richford, the Group Treasurer at Renewi plc. Adam began his career with EY, helping to build the turnaround and working capital management practice before joining Energis, a fallen-angel telco, where he had his first line-responsibility for treasury. This was then followed by a stint at a Private Equity Firm, Kelso Place Asset Management.   Adam then went on to join GE Capital as their Treasurer for the UK Real Estate business, his first role as a dedicated treasury professional. Over the following 9 years at GE, he provided treasury support for more than 20 billion pounds worth of acquisition, disposals, and integration of assets, portfolios and loan books, leading the European treasury function.   When GE resized the capital business, he joined Gala Coral Group, a high-leveraged private equity business. This was his first Group Treasurer position, supporting the strategic exit plans including the merger between Coral and Ladbrokes. This experience proved invaluable when, following Gala Coral, Adam joined Renewi as Group Treasurer, working towards the reverse takeover of its closest competitor, Van Gansewinkel Group. Training Agile & Flexible Treasury Teams with Marc Vandiepenbeeck

We have a very special guest the Treasury Career Corner podcast this week, and that’s none other than Marc Vandiepenbeeck, Vice President & Assistant Treasurer at Johnson Controls.   Mr Vandiepenbeeck joined Johnson Controls in 2005 and currently manages the Company’s capital markets, global liquidity, asset management (retirement plans), strategic banking relationships, and SEC reporting for treasury operations. In this role, he supports the JCI regional treasury centres in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Prior to his current position, Mr Vandiepenbeeck worked in regional treasury centres in Hong Kong, Brussels and Milwaukee.   In 2009, Mr Vandiepenbeeck cofounded Whitewater Analytics, a software as a service Fintech Company that provides foreign exchange exposure management services for global companies.
