Coaching Mind's Podcast: Perform at your best!
Mental Training Plan
This podcast is designed to help people take back control of their mind and body in high-pressure situations. We primarily focus on athletic situations usually spend time talking with athletes and coaches about how to use these tools in an athletic setting. However, we firmly believe that these are tools and skills that you will be able to use for the rest of your life in any situation or setting that causes your mind or body to get off track. Whether that is losing focus to distractions, losing confidence, that little voice in the back of your mind creating doubt, or wondering if you have what it takes, we use tools and strategies backed by cognitive brain research and neuropsychology to help YOU take back control and perform at your best when it matters the most.

#93-Fighting Through Adversity (4 Torn ACL's): Kamryn Babb - Ohio State WR and 2x Team Captain
Kamryn Babb has battled through the pain and heartache of seeing his athletic hopes and dreams be crushed by a torn ACL not once, not twice, not three, but four separate times. This week we sit down with Kamryn to discuss his mental toughness, the kind of impact and leadership it takes to be selected captain twice, and the strength that his faith gave him amid seemingly insurmountable odds. In an amazing story that was featured by both The Big Ten Network and College Gameday (Link: https://youtu.be/WnTQay44OSY), Kamryn fought through the heartache, the adversity, the pain, and the doubts of whether or not it would even be worth it to battle back and not only get cleared to play but also catch a touchdown pass inside Ohio Stadium in front of 100K+ fans. We catch up with Kamryn to discuss everything from injuries and perseverance to leadership and how the Buckeyes will prepare for a second chance at the college football playoff and a look ahead at the Georgia Bulldogs. A must listen for any athletes who have just received the crushing news that their season is over.Looking for some help dealing with your own adversity or struggles in the mental side of your game? #86-Controlling your perception
Our perception of any given situation is determined by four main factors: the filter through which we see it, how we frame it, how we evaluate it, and how we respond to it. The filter is our individual lens on the world, shaped by our experiences, beliefs, and values. Our frame is how we choose to see the situation, whether we focus on the negative or the positive. Our evaluation is based on our judgment of what is happening, and our response is how we choose to act in the situation. By understanding these four factors, we can begin to control our perception of any given situation. Doing so allows us to see things more clearly and respond more effectively. As a result, we can find greater success and satisfaction in both our personal and professional lives, and also feel more confident moving forward! Here is the BLOG POST LINK to the article about controlling your focus that was referenced in the episode.Link to the Focus Cycle: Controlling your mind and body in Big Moments book that Ben wrote that is referenced in this episode.Interested in having a conversation with Ben about how he can help you with the mental side of your game?
