As we push into November and the fires in California continue to rage, we need to start asking ourselves, why is this happening? How are these fires burning bigger and further than they ever have? EP105 | The Producer: Richard Gladstein
When was the first time you saw a Quentin Tarantino film? For some of us, it was in a theater. For others, a friend put it on the TV. For the younger audience, it might have been Netflix. But for our guest Richard Gladstein, the first time he saw a Quentin Tarantino film it was a script on his desk. In fact, he was one of the first to see Tarantino's work. Richard's experience in the industry ranges from handing out dog biscuits to producing some of Hollywood's biggest films: Reservoir Dogs, Finding Neverland, The Bourne Identity, and Pulp Fiction. Now, he is the Executive Director of the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema. Both Host Mike Pecci and our AP Liam discuss with Richard his producing career, his experience working as one of Tarantino's closest collaborators, and some advice he has for young filmmakers: a topic very important to Richard whose current role is the Executive Director of the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema. Our first Producer episode delivers every bit as much as you'd expect it to.Richard Gladstein's IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0321621/Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema: http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/web/academics/schools/mediaarts/schools/feirstein.phpMike Pecci's IG:instagram.com/mikepecciILWP's IG:instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspodILWP Subreddit:www.reddit.com/r/inlovewiththeprocessYell at Spotify here to allow you to rate podcasts:community.spotify.com/t5/Ideas/ct-p/newideasEmail us to see 12KM: inlovewiththeprocess@gmail.comFeaturing Music by Code Elektro:www.codeelektro.com/Say hi to our friends over at Film Riot: https://www.filmriot.com/The Episode is Sponsored by:Puget Systems: puget.systems/go/inlovewiththeprocessPuget Systems Consultation: www.pugetsystems.com/landing/Puget-…_hsmi=86870814Quasar Science: www.quasarscience.com/Industry Jump IG: www.instagram.com/industryjump/Industry Jump: www.industryjump.com/Support our show by signing up for a 30 day free trial at www.audibletrial.com/InLoveWithTheProcessILWP Sponsor Page: www.inlovewiththeprocess.com/sponsors Hosted on Acast. The young artists looking for that internship, that first job, that big chance. He knew he wanted to be in LA or NYC, but he was in the middle of nowhere PA with zero contacts in either city. So he did something ridiculous: he applied for a position that didn't exist working for a guy who didn't know him. And Host Mike Pecci agreed to let Liam travel across the country to work for him for free. If you're wondering how the hell to not only get an incredible opportunity to network and learn from some of the most talented professionals in the industry, but to actually get the internship of your dreams, check out how Liam pulled it off.Mike Pecci's IG:instagram.com/mikepecciILWP's IG:instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspodILWP Subreddit:www.reddit.com/r/inlovewiththeprocessYell at Spotify here to allow you to rate podcasts:community.spotify.com/t5/Ideas/ct-p/newideasEmail us to see 12KM: inlovewiththeprocess@gmail.comFeaturing Music by Code Elektro:www.codeelektro.com/The Episode is Sponsored by:Puget Systems: www.puget.systems/go/inlovewiththeprocessPuget Systems Consultation: www.pugetsystems.com/landing/Puget-…86870814Quasar Science: www.quasarscience.com/Industry Jump IG: www.instagram.com/industryjump/Industry Jump: www.industryjump.com/Support our show by signing up for a 30 day free trial at www.audibletrial.com/InLoveWithTheProcessILWP Sponsor Page: www.inlovewiththeprocess.com/sponsors Hosted on Acast. Covid-19 brought the filmmaking industry to a screeching halt this year, but for so many of us, the show must go on. Our guest this week, Production Designer Eve McCarney, gives us an inside look at the reality of working during Covid-19. Eve and Host Mike Pecci discuss the protocols filmmakers are facing, remote workflows, and the role of a Production Designer during Covid. If you've been locked inside your house for the past couple months, and come on... who hasn't been, you probably saw the trailer for Greyhound. If you have Apple TV, you might have already seen it.
