THIS IS AN ANNA WITH 2Ns EPISODE BEFORE I REBRANDED TO CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH. I RECOMMEND STARTING WITH THE MOST RECENT CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH EPISODES.This format was really popular last time so here I am with another one. The reason I chose Teams & People is because I noticed that my students didn't use a lot of natural vocabulary when describing these things. In the episode I talk about all of things. To pull your weightTo gel/clickTo be on the sameTo be a team playerThere's no "I" in teamTo step on somebodyApologies for the terrible analogies! The human pyramid is my latest attempt.

75. How to Have a Successful Interview in English with Nigel Job from The Interview Specialist
THIS IS AN ANNA WITH 2Ns EPISODE BEFORE I REBRANDED TO CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH. I RECOMMEND STARTING WITH THE MOST RECENT CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH EPISODES.Wow, it has been one year since I started this podcast. As they say, time flies when you are having fun. To mark this milestone I'm bringing you a special episode with a very special guest. I asked you last year what things you wanted me to talk about. Time and time again people would ask me about Interviews in English. "What should I say" "What should I do?" "How can I stop being so nervous?" Join me and Nigel, an international interview expert, as he gives some great fantastic tips but also a fresh perspective on the interview experience for non-native speakers of English. Nigel was a wonderful guest and I hope you take away something useful that you can use in interviews in the future. By the way - the episode was recorded in November 2020 which is why we make reference to "this year" meaning 2020. Just in case it confused you!NIGEL'S LINKSFind him on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/theinterviewspecialist/

71. Essential Phrasal Verb: Break Down
THIS IS AN ANNA WITH 2Ns EPISODE BEFORE I REBRANDED TO CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH. I RECOMMEND STARTING WITH THE MOST RECENT CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH EPISODES.Break down is a beautiful and fascinating phrasal verb that has multiple meanings and I wanted to share it with you. I've been looking at this phrasal verb recently in my classes and it gave me the inspiration. Some of the meanings are very common and useful at work too. I like to teach you things that are unusual and interesting but also those where you are going to have a high ROI. Meaning if you learn them it will be worth your time and effort because we use them a lot every day.I break down (excuse the pun!) the phrasal verb into meanings and give clear examples that you can go off and use in your conversations at home and at work.I hope you enjoy this episode. Grab a pen or paper to write down the different meanings. I use the Spanish translations but you can write down the translation into your own language.

64. 3 Ways To Use "To Be Supposed to"
THIS IS AN ANNA WITH 2Ns EPISODE BEFORE I REBRANDED TO CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH. I RECOMMEND STARTING WITH THE MOST RECENT CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH EPISODES.This little modal verb phrase has been popping up a lot in my classes and teaching so I want to teach it to you. This is a common confusion with the verb Suppose (which is different) and it is VERY common mistake. Students say "It's supposed that" instead of "to be supposed to" in the correct form. I go through and give you 3 clear examples of how we use this structure in the real life to talk about expectation and requirement in the present and past tense.I really encourage you to think about your own sentences with "to be supposed to" after listening to this episode and to start using them when you speak English.

62. How to Use "Hope"
THIS IS AN ANNA WITH 2Ns EPISODE BEFORE I REBRANDED TO CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH. I RECOMMEND STARTING WITH THE MOST RECENT CONFIDENT BUSINESS ENGLISH EPISODES.A lot of students get confused between the Verbs Hope and Wish. Today I'm going to tackle a few ways you can use the verb Hope in English in the Future, Present and Past.Students can use Hope a lot when talking about the future and present but less so in the past. It's actually a really common verb and use a lot in business English when writing emails, so it is a good thing to have a command of.I also show you a way you might hear Hope used to give insults! The sentence structures cover these things in Spanish Espero que + subjunctive in past, Espera que hayas + past participle, Esperaba que + subjunctive in past.I hope you enjoy this episode (see! we use it all the time)
