In college, Elise competed for Stanford University, where she had one of the most dominant careers in Stanford history, going on to become a 12-time All-American. She was also a two-time Pac-12 champion.  In high school, she won two cross-country state championships, as well as two state track titles in the 800, 1600, and 3200. Elise also competed at the 2014 World Junior Championships and finished fourth in the 1500m.  In today's conversation, Elise takes me through reflections from her 2024 season, her coaching change, and the impact Coach Jared Cornfield has had, how to flourish in the sport of running, how to approach running more sustainability, and SO much more! Rylee Blade Shares Exclusive Insights From Her National Record Of 15:20 In The 3-Mile & Her Journey That Has Led To This Point

Today on the podcast is the top-ranked high school girl in the country, Rylee Blade!  Before she got into the sport, she played soccer for 10 years at a highly competitive level.  In her short time as a runner, she has lit the high school world on fire. She was the CIF State Champion in the 1600 and 3200m in 2023, and won the 3200m again in 2024. She was also the 2023 CIF XC State Champion and will look to defend her title in 2024. This past spring, she became the 2024 Nike Outdoor Nationals 5k Champion.  So far this season, she won the prestigious Woodbridge Invitational running 15:20.3 to set a meet and national record by eight seconds.  Rylee has run 2:14.61 (800m), 4:46.54 (Mile), 10:02.19 (3200m), and 15:20.3 in the 3 Mile XC.  Rylee is committed to run for Flordia State University next fall.  In today's conversation, Rylee takes me through her journey in sport, her national-record and what went into it, how she deals with setbacks, her ambitions for the rest of her season and future, the training she's been doing, and much more! Back on the podcast is Sinclaire Johnson!  Sinclaire holds PRs of 1:59 (800m), 3:56 (1500m), and 8:37 in the 3k.  While running at Oklahoma State University, she was the 2019 NCAA Champion in the 1500m. She was the 2022 USATF Outdoor 1500m Champion where she then went on to place 6th at the 2022 World Championships hosted in Eugene, Oregon. She is the 6th fastest US woman all-time in the 1500m. Sinclaire runs for NIKE and announces on this podcast her new coach and training setup... Sean McGorty recaps his 2024 season on the podcast today! Sean holds PRs of 3:33.67 (1500m), 3:53 (Mile), 7:32.79 (3k), 8:20.77 (Steeplechase), 13:02.13 (5k), and 27:18.15 (10k). Sean was also a part of the 4x1500m AR team. Sean made the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, where he made both the 5k and 10k teams! Sean also made the 2022 World Championships in the 10k. Sean competes for Nike's Bowerman Track Club and has for his entire professional career. For those who aren't familiar with Sean, he has a long history of success from the time he was in high school. In high school, he won more state-championships and had more accolades than one could remember. In college, Sean became an NCAA Champion in the 5k at Stanford University and pushed forward that program to a new level in his years of representing the farm. In today's conversation, Sean takes me through his 2024 season, the ups/downs, and everything in between. Olympian & Spanish Record Holder Mario Garcia Romo Shares Reflections From His 2024 Season

The Spanish Rocket Mario Garcia Romo returns to the podcast.  Mario holds PRs of 1:46.9 (800m), 3:47 (Mile - Spanish National Record), 4:49 (2k), & 7:34 (3k). Mario placed 4th at the 2022 World Champions in Eugene, Oregon, and then placed 6th in the 1500m at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and had multiple top performances at Diamond Leagues around the world.  In high school, Mario had personal bests of 1:50.66 in the 800m, 3:42.35 in the 1500m, and 8:12 in the 3000m. Mario then went to Ole Miss, where he quickly made a name for himself as one of the top runners in the nation. Mario was a 7-time All-American & 6-time SEC Champion. Perhaps the pinnacle of his NCAA years, Mario won the Mile at the 2022 Indoor Track and Field Championships. He placed fourth at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Former Notre Dame School Record Holder Ron Markezich Shares Stories & Lessons From His Successful Career On & Off The Track + Lessons From Parenting An NCAA Champion

Today on the podcast is former Notre Dame school-record holder, Ron Markezich!  On April 13, 1989, Ron ran 28:44 in the 10k to set a new Notre Dame school record that would last two decades. He was also an All-American in XC placing 11th on the grass.  In high school, Ron won state titles and did some crazy things, like running 9:05 in the 3200m as a sophomore (unheard of for the 80s).  After his successful years in the sport, he transitioned into corporate life where he was unbelievably successful, becomingan executive at Microsoft. He is currently the CEO of Lighthouse. He has four kids: Jordan, Cambria, Olivia, and Andrea. Three of them went onto run in the NCAA and Olivia is currently a professional runner for On and won an NCAA title in the Steeplchase last June. In today's conversation, Ron takes me through his years of running growing up, what training was like back in the day, his legendary recruiting visit to Notre Dame, his years at Notre Dame, transitioning out of the sport, lessons from his successful years at Microsoft, parenting, and much more! "I Want All The Records" | SHELBY HOULIHAN IS BACK: Her Plan To Return To Track In 2025, Mile World Record Attempt In January, Not Wearing Supershoes, What Group She's Joining & More

Shelby Houlihan returns in less than four months.  On January 15 2025 her suspension will be lifted. And she can compete against the world's best once again. As she starts her buildup to the redemption tour, I wanted to get her back on the podcast to spill the tea on all she's been up to and how she's planning on coming back. Shelby is a 13xUS National Champion, a 2016 Olympian, and the American Record Holder in the 1500m where she ran that in the 2019 World Championships in Doha where she placed 4th. She is also a World-Record Holder in the Women's 4x1500m. She holds PRs of 1:59.92 (800m), 3:54.99 (1500m), and 14:23.92 in the 5k. In college, she was the first student at Arizona State University to win a national individual title in the outdoor 1,500. Shelby was a 12-time NCAA Division I All-American, the second most in Arizona State history, and an NCAA Track champion.
