The KC Underground Podcast

In the final week of this series on the Missionary Pathway, Cory and Brian discuss multiplication. While we certainly desire a multiplication of microchurches, that is not all we mean by this word. We want to see multiplication at every level: Prayer and fasting, Incarnational living, gospel planting, disciples made and more. Our hope is that by following in the rhythms and the ways of Jesus, multiplication will be a natural overflow.

In week four of this series on the Missionary Pathway, Cory and Brian discuss how microchurches emerge out of new disciple-making. This is phase four of the missionary pathway. As new disciples are made out of the harvest, new forms of the church are required. We discuss the definition the KC Underground holds for "church" and the rhythms of these extended spiritual families. "We don't primarily put Christians into groups on the backside of a weekend service and call it a microchurch. We want to see new disciples made out of the harvest and extended spiritual families emerge." In this episode, Cory and Brian move the conversation in this mini-series on the Missionary Pathway to phase three: Plant The Gospel. We start this episode with a discussion about a more holistic understanding of the gospel. A better understanding of the gospel will help us more faithfully live out a gospel-centered life. The result is that we become a gospel presence in our networks where we can demonstrate and proclaim Good News. "The Gospel that Jesus proclaimed was that the Kingdom of God has come near!" The missionary pathway are the five phases that the KC Underground uses to train everyday people in disciple-making principles and practices. In this mini-series, we will spend a week focusing on the five phases, why that phase is important and the resources and rhythms to support leaders in that phase. In this episode, Cory and Brian interview John Darr. John is a licensed clinical social worker living in the St. Louis area. He's an ordinary follower of Jesus who is seeking to make disciples in the everyday stuff of life. Through regular training with the KC Underground, John has clarified his missional context, learned to live in deeply incarnational ways in that context, and see people surrender their life to Jesus. You'll hear in John's story how he began to move through the missionary pathway to see a growing extended spiritual family. "I'm not living anymore just to gain heaven when I die. In this episode, Brian interviews the women of the E-2 Hub. This Hub exists to virtually equip disciplemakers in the US army wherever they are sent locally. While we heard from the leadership of the E2 Hub in last week's episode, this week we hear more specifically the story of the women connected with this Hub who are serving the US Army. "I'd like to have a military wife in my corner any day of the week...crumbling is not an option." In this episode, Brian interviews the women of the E-2 Hub. This Hub exists to virtually equip disciplemakers in the US army wherever they are sent locally. While we heard from the leadership of the E2 Hub in last week's episode, this week we hear more specifically the story of the women connected with this Hub who are serving the US Army. In this interview, Cory and Brian interview Tim Garrett. Tim is a KC Underground missionary but is also on staff with Frontiers, a mission organization taking the gospel to the nations. Primarily, Tim works with disciple-making movement leaders in East Africa. Tim joins the podcast this week to discuss how dreams and visions are often a part of gospel movement and poses the question, "Are we desperate for God to move in this way?"
