#1201 The World Within - Jem Fuller
There's the world we're in, and there's the world in us. One is where life happens, the other is where living happens. One is about our life situation, the other is about our life experience. One seen, one unseen. Jem Fuller is an Author, Corporate Speaker, Facilitator, Eternal Optimist, Good Bloke and I was lucky enough to chat with him about our worlds. #1200 Love Languages - Harps
Gary Chapman's book 'The 5 Love Languages' was first published in 1992.I read it the same year and it was like a curtain had been pulled back in my brain to reveal some beautiful wisdom and insight that would help me understand, connect with, serve, and love others. Specifically, to understand the way we humans give, receive and experience love (in all its many forms). I'm definitely no expert in this area but (for better or worse) I decided to share some of my thoughts, ideas and personal experiences around this fascinating concept (love languages). By the way, I have never met Mr Chapman (Chappers) and have no relationship with him but I feel compelled to acknowledge his work in this space. #1199 A Psych For Sore Minds - Dr. Sohom Das
Dr. Sohom Das is an interesting bloke with a super cool job (well, he likes it) and we had a great chat about all-things psychopathy, criminality, sociology, world-class liars, Forensic Psychiatry (his job), stand-up comedy (his passion), prison (where he often works), murderers (who he often assesses), Will Smith (his thoughts on the infamous slap) and Sohom also shared a few fascinating stories about some of the people he has worked with. The Doc has a new(ish) book called 'In Two Minds: Stories of Murder, Justice and Recovery from a Forensic Psychiatrist' and a ripper YouTube channel called 'A Psych For Sore Minds'. This was fun. #1198 The Science Of Conversation - Prof. Elizabeth Stokoe
Yep, conversation is a science. Who knew? There's actually mountains of research which analyses effective (and ineffective) conversation and provides great insight into what works (in a chat) and what doesn't. As somebody whose job is literally conversations, I was super interested in this... conversation (sorry) and it didn't disappoint. Professor Elizabeth Stokoe is a social psychologist who has spent over twenty years collecting and analysing real conversations across settings as varied as first dates, crisis negotiation, sales encounters and medical communication. #1197 Virtual Me (And You) - Patrick Bonello
According to our loveable resident nerd Patrick, in the not-too-distant-future (coupla years), I'll be able to 'stand on a stage on the opposite side of the world' (well, a 3-D hologram version of me), deliver a presentation, see the audience, interact with the audience and be 'back home', as soon as I'm done. Sh*t's gettin' weird folks. This was a fun one. Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1196 My Life In Hiding - Laura Cathcart Robbins
From the outside looking in, Laura Cathcart Robbins was a picture of success; happy, healthy, wealthy, respected, connected and admired. Or so it appeared. But behind the persona, the picture and the story, was the reality of a woman battling to navigate life with a debilitating addiction, a huge secret and a world of mental and emotional pain. Laura is the author of the brand new 'Stash: My Life in Hiding' and this conversation was a fascinating insight into the physical, mental, emotional and social challenges that so many of us deal with. How do we keep ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally younger than our chronological age? How can we maintain our level of functional health (or even improve it) as we get older? In this episode, I share some not-so-typical strategies that are both simple and effective (when they're applied). Enjoy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#1192 Learn, Give, Live - Bobby Cappuccio
Bobby and I have been friends for decades and he's been on TYP many times talking about personal development, sociology, psychology and all-things human behaviour. But this episode is very different. We've chatted briefly (before) about him growing up in a violent, abusive and loveless home but this time, he opens the door wide and we discuss the numerous challenges of navigating life with brain damage, Tourette's, ADHD, learning difficulties, behavioural and emotional regulation issues, severe anxiety, trust issues and lots more. I know it sounds like a depressing conversation but I found it fascinating, educational, and ultimately, uplifting.
