Embracing Seasons of Suffering with Dr. Gary and Laura House
Suicide. Depression. Loss. Grief seems to be all around us right now. Are you experiencing suffering? Do you know someone who is? You’re not alone. Gary and Laura’s youngest son, Nathan, went to Heaven in 2016 at the age of 25. An incredibly kind, loving, son and brother, Nathan cherished his family and friends. He was an electrical engineer and entrepreneur. Although it wasn’t evident to those around him until after he was gone, he silently and valiantly fought depression for many years but died by suicide. The journey following this tragedy provided the vision for Our Hearts Are Home, a faith-based non-profit organization whose purpose is to minister to grieving families, provide encouragement to those who are suffering, and to educate and equip individuals to reach out to those in need.

This is a “Haman moment” for the United States—but God is the God of Esther outcomes. **Find links and more under PODCASTS at HeidiStJohn.com**

Anyone Can Homeschool
If you knew that there was a deadly virus at your local school, would you send your child there? If you knew there was fierce fighting happening at the school, would you pack a snack lunch for them and send them on their way? Sadly, many parents are still turning a blind eye to the real pandemic - the spiritual and moral crisis that’s taking our youth in record numbers is happening in the public schools. The battle is real—and our kids should never be on the front lines. My hunch is that you wouldn’t. The time for excuses is over. The schools are no longer safe places for our kids. It’s time to pull them out.

Grace in Times of Grief
The news is grim right now—even frightening. Can you feel it? Every day, strangers and friends send me articles and videos that often predict the unthinkable… but is this the place God wants us to focus on in our hearts and minds? No. God’s grace will never be absent in the life of a Believer who knows the Word and lives by it. Our confidence in times of trial must rest on the knowledge that God is in control.
