We are all prone to forget things. We forget people's names, we forget where we placed our car keys and phones, we even forget our own personal information at times. It's easy to forget when we don't take time to remember. In 1 Samuel 7 we read how Samuel calls the house of Israel to repentance for forgetting who God is. They've stopped remembering who God is and what He's done for them, which leads them to be defeated in battle.When we forget who God is we quickly become vulnerable to the lies of the enemy and turn to other idols for our source of hope. We must always be remembering who God is and who He says we are, because apart from Him, there is no hope. Have you taken time today to reflect and remember just who God is?Support the show

We all have a longing to be completely satisfied. We look for a true fulfillment that will penetrate the deepest parts of our soul and leave us feeling like we lack nothing. As the church, it can be quite simple to lose sight of our goal and forget about our mission – to seek and search for the lost.   We can become caught up in our own desires and pleasures that we often let the lost go un-noticed. We can also forget about those in need of a savior and become distracted by only serving and caring for those already rescued and saved.However, we know that Jesus’ call for us as the church is far beyond this. What exactly is it though?Support the show

Our culture talks a lot more about the presence of God rather than the power of God. Maybe it’s because we’re afraid of being moved beyond our comfort zones. Or maybe it’s because we view ourselves as powerful enough without God, and we don’t have a desperate hunger for Him. When we are functioning in our own power and strength, we quickly realize that things can be harder than they have to be. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” As Christians, we’ve been given an incredible gift that dwells in us – The Holy Spirit. We’re living in a world where it looks like things are growing more chaotic day by day—some may say “apocalyptic.” Natural disasters, pandemics, and political disunity have defined the last year for many of us, and all of these things have led us to ask the question, “Are we living in the last days?
