Become Self-Aware | Rob Turner
One of the scariest journeys you could ever embark on is the one of discovering who you truly are. We’re faced with so many different demands and expectations that it’s quite simple to become someone we aren’t or don’t want to be. The journey of discovering who you are is challenging and complex. But it all starts with realizing that in order to find yourself, you have to realize it’s not about you. True self-awareness is found in a true awareness of God. Whether it be through a personal or cultural crises or vulnerability, the Lord guides us to self-awareness through Him alone.Becoming self-aware is essential, and it’s only attainable through a deeper intimacy and awareness of our God.Do you know who you truly are?Support the show

Are You Listening?
In a world full of noise and chaos, our attention is often divided. We've become experts at multitasking and silence has become foreign to us. We no longer have the time to listen to others around us because our time is too precious to share and we simply can't afford to lose a moment of it. But what if listening to others intentionally was actually a way to love? Despite the fact that he was surrounded by so much havoc, Jesus listened. He listened to those around Him and to the Father. He was present and wasn't rushed by the world around Him, because He desired to love others. It's simply not possible to care for someone well if we aren't willing to listen. We must be ready to step out of our own world and enter into someone else’s by being present in our conversations and interactions with them. Are you loving others by listening intentionally?Support the show

God Has a Name
When you think about God, what is it that comes to mind? Do you think of Him as kind or cruel? Do you see Him as easy going or uptight? It’s easy to create God in our own image rather seeing Him for who He truly is. We allow our view of Him to be determined by our emotions and experiences, rather than looking at who He says He is.God is not just a doctrine, or idea, or concept. He is a person and He has a name – Yahweh. He desires intimacy with you, His child, and loves you. Through Jesus, this closeness is possible. Because of Him, we get to see the fullness of who our God truly is. God has a name, and His name is Yahweh. Are you willing to enter into that intimacy with Him today?Support the show

Not Giving Up On Community
Shortcuts – we all love them.Whether it's finding a quicker route to work, an easier way to cook a meal, we look for ways to cut down on the effort or time it takes to obtain something in any and all ways possible. One area we often look for a shortcut in is community. Sometimes, we'd rather not have to labor through the effort of building relationships and rather not have to bear the weight of others burdens—nor cast ours on others. But community is essential in our lives and it will require Christ-saturated perseverance. Community calls us to step into the lives of others and commit to walk the journey of life together. Community requires us to not give up when all we want to do is just that. The broken world is starving for a community with Christ-saturated perseverance. What does it look like to not take the shortcut?Support the show

In community we bring others closer to Jesus, and we grow closer to Him too.Transformation happens in community.Lives are changed and renewed for His glory. Are you ready to experience this kind of change?#TheBridgeChurch #BridgeGroups #Community #BetweenTwoSundaysSupport the show

Better Together
Community — it’s so much more than just one hour on a Sunday. It’s found when we invite someone over, no matter how the house looks. It’s found in the coffee shop as we open up to a friend. It’s found in the midnight phone call when we’re desperate for someone to listen. We were created to be in community by a communal God. We weren’t made to walk this life alone. We’re better together.Between two Sundays, what does your community look like?Support the show

How Are You Fighting The Battle? – Ephesians 6:10-24
At the end of Paul’s letter to the church of Ephesus, we find an important reminder – Our battle isn’t with flesh and blood. It’s a spiritual battle. Whether it’s our children or spouses, or the co-worker who we don’t agree with, our enemy isn’t them. It’s Satan. How do we fight this spiritual battle if it’s beyond our physical abilities? We put on the armor of God. Putting on the belt of truth, shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, and praying in the Spirit. When wars rise up in your life, are you putting on the armor of God? How are you fighting the battle?Support the show
