Toilet Radio 559 – A Yum! Brands Content Experience

This week on Toilet Radio: We’re at the Pizza Hut. We’re at the Taco Bell. We’re at the combination Pizza Hut/Taco Bell. Join us as we get way deep into the weeds of Taco Bell’s “Feed the Beat” marketing campaign. For years now, the ubiquitous fast food taco chain has been giving little bands a pile of $5 gift cards in exchange for their cultural cache. Is it cynical? You bet! Also on this episode: Matt Barlow is 100% going to re-join Iced Earth, Rob Halford is double-booked on the night of Ozzy’s final show, and Attack Attack are threatening to release new music. Folks, it’s an episode. Music featured on this show: Lunar Blood – Survivalist Want more Toilet Radio? Toilet Radio 558 – Bass Pro Battle Vest

This week on Toilet Radio: Summer Slaughter sold by Ash Avildsen, Jamey Jasta proud new owner of a lemon. Related: We look at Ash’s new women’s wrestling movie and are awed by new heights in nepotism. An original Possessed guitarist (not the guy you know) got shot by the cops in a lawn care dispute. We get more depressing information on Ozzy’s upcoming final performance. Propagandhi and Hideous Divinity are backing out on US tours for very valid reasons. Finally, we have a mostly pleasant conversation about the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame (no Eddie Trunk). Music featured on this show: Chainsword – Butcherhorde Want more Toilet Radio? Toilet Radio 556 – Pre-Metal

This week on Toilet Radio, Joe and Jordo watch the first part of Sam Dunn’s impressive 2011 documentary series Metal Evolution. We begin with “Pre-Metal” and talk about the primordial ooze from which blast beats and tremolo picking emerged. We’re reviewing medieval chord progressions, Black Sabbath ripping off classical composers, jazz, Howlin’ Wolf, the big money hustlas at Sun Studios, the origins of distortion and much, much more. But that’s not all: We’re also talking about discontinued energy drinks for reasons I cannot really ascertain. Folks, this is a very good one. If you enjoy it, please tune into the Patreon later today for the second part in this series as we talk about early metal in the US and the UK. Toilet Radio 555 – Black Band Shirt

This week Jordo sits down with an old friend. We’re joined by Breno to talk about You Will Never Know Me, his new album as Black Band Shirt. The two talk about taking time off from work to deal with mental health stuff, Silent Hill 2, trying to promote music in a crumbling online ecosystem, songwriting, recording, playing live, and trying to determine whether you’re making music for yourself or for someone who may or may not exist. Folks, it’s a good one. Music featured on this show: Black Band Shirt – Sacred Hurt Want more Toilet Radio? Toilet Radio 554 – Emotional Support Band

This week on Toilet Radio: We finally got un update from a former As I Lay Dying band member about what exactly caused every non-Tim Lambesis member to leave the band all of a sudden. Turns out it’s because Tim is a piece of shit. Dragged Into Sunlight dropped Meth from their upcoming US tour because they are artists with principles. Or really, really strange people. One of the two. Creed are gearing up for another cruise with 90s cast-offs and we can’t wait to go. Metallica has a new documentary coming out. Yes. Another one. Finally, Ash Avildsen is at it again with MISS MAYHEM, a female-fronted traveling fest featuring what will almost-certainly be exclusively Sumerian Records bands. Folks, it’s a good one. Toilet Radio 553 – Market Distortion

This week on Toilet Radio: Financial instruments? Fuck that! We’re talking about musical instruments! And how they will soon become very, very unaffordable thanks to the current cratering of the United States economy due to the single dumbest self-inflicted wound since the satanic invention of capitalism. Brian from Shadows Fall describes how he’s already seeing costs go up and describes the misery that will soon follow. We take it to the logical conclusion and discuss how the entire concept of American music is in dire straits due to tariffs blowing up against our already shaky foundations. BUT IT’S NOT ALL DOOM AND GLOOM. We’re also talking about the first statements Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer has made since getting his ass arrested for storming the capitol! ALSO: Danzig is a stupid old man who definitely does not care about approving his own merch, which is how we ended up with a black sun Danzig tee. FINALLY: We revisit Ronnie Radke’s malign influence on the continent and nation of Australia. FOLKS, it’s a good one. Music featured on this show: Skull Tomb – Son of Fire Want more Toilet Radio? Toilet Radio 552 – Plastic Surgery Disasters

This week on Toilet Radio: Perry Farrell is BACK! In plastic form! Yngwie Malmsteen is ready to sell you a bunch of gummy multivitamins to help you shred real good and fast. Meanwhile, Matt Heafy is ready to sell you a bag of cough drops to help you do some yells. Some small town Australian mayor took a photo with Ronnie Radke and now it’s THE WHOLE WORLD vs Ronnie Radke yet again. In hardcore news: Zulu and Gel are just… a huge goddamn mess, man. Some funko-like company is selling action figures of Alex Terrible fighting a bear, just in case you need a very expensive, very embarrassing item to place in your house. Finally, Exodus is having a hard time booking a tour, first with Deicide, then with Possessed. Seems there might be some baggage with Jeff! Folks… it’s an episode. Toilet Radio 550 – Get Blasted!

This week on Toilet Radio: Matt Pinfield is out of a coma and it sounds like he might fully recover after a very serious stroke? Vinnie Paul’s posthumous cook book is coming out soon and you better believe we preordered the deluxe edition. Disturbed did some damage to the legacy of Chicago sports while fucking around with fire. Robb Flynn is selling booze in a shotgun-shaped container, related, Robb Flynn is in his mid-50s. One of the guys in SCOUR decided to re-litigate a ten-year old incident in which his employer, Phil Anselmo, got on stage and did some real racist shit. Smart! Finally, we argue about Bluesky users opinions on covers. Folks, it’s a fun one. Music featured on this show: Hate Inclination –Ran Through at the Tavern Want more Toilet Radio? Toilet Radio 549 – BANNED from Fat Daddy’s

This week on Toilet Radio: Brent is leaving Mastodon and we got more questions than answers about where the band goes from here. Where is Phil Towle when we need him? We read a lengthy interview with John Dolmayan of System of a Down and decide that he is, actually, The Perfect Conservative. Jeffrey Nothing of Mushroomhead has been diagnosed with cancer and is now pursuing alternative medicine for treatment. We gotta talk about this. Finally, Michale Graves, former Misfits vocalist, has been BLACKLISTED from FAT DADDY’S, a Mansfield, Tx strip mall sports bar chain. Folks, it’s a good one. Interview: Low Before the Breeze

Talk about a band you don’t want to meet in a dark alley… This is quite belated post for an interview I did last year with local chaotic-blackened-poweremoviolencecore band Low Before the Breeze. For dumb personal reasons you don’t care about, I didn’t have a chance to edit this interview until recently, and when I did I realized the mic shut off about halfway through. I thought about just leaving it unreleased, but this is an innovative band that’s at the heart of a burgeoning emoviolence renaissance here in Atlanta, and I feel like they deserve some attention. So here it is in all its truncated silliness. I hope you enjoy. Check out the first single “Night Wept” from their upcoming debut album A Hole Beneath the Home We Shared out May 30th. Night Wept by Low Before The Breeze Be sure to check out the EP this interview was for, It Kindly Bent Around Me. It Kindly Bent Around Me by Low Before The Breeze Follow them on IG, check them out on Spoofy if that’s your thing, and buy all their shit on Bandcamp.
