On todays Episode Bryan invites a very special guest by the name of Mili.  Mili was born to family that struggled to meet the emotional needs of a child. Her brother was a diagnosed sociopath and her mother struggled with severe mental illness and substance abuse. Growing up, Mili quickly realized that she had to find a way to fend for herself. One of the ways she learned to cope was through drinking and doing drugs - it seemed to be the solution for Mili at the time. When Mili become pregnant with her first son - a new sense of awareness was born inside her which sparked the beginning of a beautiful journey of recovery and self-acceptance.  Today Mili is someone that works to help other people heal. On today’s episode Bryan Invites friend Sean E. to share his story of addiction, relapse & recovery. From as early as he can remember, Sean tells us about his compulsive and addictive behaviors. Sean consistently found himself substituting one addiction for another. He shares the different ways that his addiction took hold and manifested in his relationship leading to a relapse after acquiring 2 years clean. During his relapses and many attempts of getting sober, Sean lost his father, overdosed multiple times, received medallions while high, became homeless and set a hotel room on fire.  Listen to today’s inspiring story of redemption, recovery and not giving up. This week Bryan sits down with Kristen C. as she shares her story of addiction and her journey through recovery. Born and raised right on the border of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Kristen remembers having a typical upbringing. While most kids viewed their parents’ divorce as a difficult time, for Kristen it just meant extra freedom. In this freedom she began to experiment with alcohol and finding that she always seemed to push the limits far beyond what the other kids were doing.  Through a series of toxic and abusive relationships, Kristen discovered Percocet’s or “Perc 30’s”. Kristen struggled for years to keep it together until the walls started to close in. The pills introduced her to crack & heroin and a life that became completely unmanageable and dependent on getting high. This Week on Hell Has an Exit Bryan invites longtime friend, and predecessor, Church.  It all started in good fun for Church. There were drugs, girls, & rock shows. “It’s what we did to have fun”. Little by little the drugs began to take hold and before he knew it there was no more sense of self control. With a spiraling addiction involving quaaludes, alcohol, cocaine, and eventually crack, church found himself doing whatever he needed to get high. With that, came multiple arrests and prison sentences.  When Church was 45 years old, he was facing some serious prison time, he begged his mother for one last chance to bail him out. After putting her house up for bail, he promised he would never use again. Find out how church, a guy who didn’t want to stop using, has managed to acquire 17 years clean. Today on Hell Has an Exit Bryan invites Ray, a recovering addict & founder of GRATEFUL. Apparel. Born and raised in the streets of Jackson Heights in Queens New York, all Ray ever knew were the streets. His mother left when he was a young child and his father struggled with alcohol battling his own demons. Instead of growing up with family support & a house hold filled with love, It was crack cocaine that provided the warm embrace we all seek. Addiction sunk its teeth deep into Rays soul for 15 years, until he was met with the desperation and willingness to surrender and get clean.Through faith, willingness, and determination Ray found his exit from Hell. He attended hundreds of meetings (over 200 in 90 days to be specific) with his number one goal being - DON’T USE. Ray’s story is so important because it shows that even though you can be clean for years, the disease is so powerful that if you’re not paying attention it can very quickly leave you feeling desperate, alone, and empty. It shows us that if you don’t address the underlying & deeper rooted issues it can and will find a way to slowly creep its way back in. With this, Brad developed a sort of desperation to fit in, be accepted and to be noticed. He discovered he could get high from sniffing glue, got caught up with the wrong crowd and before he knew it - he was stealing cars, and shooting heroin. In an attempt to make something of himself, Brad joins the army & ends up fighting for his life in Vietnam. This week on Hell Has an Exit Bryan returns to South Florida to interview his friend Ryan C. Ryan dives right into his early childhood and shares the deep affect that bullying had on him which drove him to having suicidal thoughts as early as 8 years old. Ryan recalls the first time every drinking alcohol as a teenager all by himself. He instantly felt “better” and more “normal” even though he blacked out. Not long after - Ryan began his love affair with ecstasy, followed by crystal meth, pills, fentanyl, crack & Heroin. Overdosing was just like another day in the life once him and his friends discovered pure fentanyl from the dark web. It took years for Ryan to find the desire within to want to get clean. In and out of rehab and homeless, Ryan still didn’t want to get clean but he “wanted to want” to get clean. Today Ryan has 5 years clean and protects his recovery over everything. This week on Hell Has an Exit Bryan continues the impromptu “LA series” with special Guest Joe E. from Hollywood California. Joe was born into a “Classically dysfunctional Family” - There was drugs, drinking, domestic violence and abuse present growing up. For Joe, his addictive behaviors began manifesting as a child by acting out, stealing, lying and just doing things he knew he wasn’t supposed to with the other kids who were all out to do the same. Drugs were always around but never really stuck, that is until Joe Met a girl. Meth was introduced into his life and when it sunk its teeth into him, it would be another 7 years before he could come out on the other side. Today Joe has a non-profit organization called the Action Plan that he is building to help children and young adults get off drugs and get the help they need to get their lives back on track by offering support to individuals at any stage of their addiction.
