A History of Christian Theology

Join us for this episode on a fascinating text which gives us a first hand account of what martyrdom was like for early Christians. Although there was some teaching on this text in the AAW series, we go much more in depth here. I hope you enjoy hearing about the first female writer in Christian history.

This podcast summarizes some of the major movements of the 4th Century and their affect on St. Athanasius and the African church. St. Athanasius was "against the world" and stood up for what he believed against many emperors who did not want him to lead the church in Alexandria. I forgot to record this live at my church, so I just recorded a version of it at home. Hope you enjoy!

We are going to look at this one aspect of early Christianity that is not talked about as much in Protestant circles. At least some of the early Christians said Mary was a virgin for her whole life. We will talk about why Jerome believes this and whether we find his argument convincing. I hope you enjoy it.

We are talking about Tertullian's resolve in the face of persecution through his writings. Tertullian wrote in defense of Christians against the government.
