007: Jonathan Van Geuns and conquering Cocodona 250: Jonathan's Top 10 Finish
Summary
In this episode, I talk to Jonathan Van Geuns. He shares his running journey and his experience at the Cocodona 250 race. Jonathan starts by explaining how he start running consistently about six years ago and gradually transitioned to trail running. He had always been fascinated by trail running and was drawn to the challenge and the beauty of the mountains. In his recap on Cocodona 250, he explains some challenges towards the end of the race, including back pain, but he learned valuable lessons about managing stress and staying in the green zone of his nervous system. He also talks about the difficult sections of the race, including the downhill from Mingus and the rocky terrain. 004: Crewing Cocodona 250 with Andrea Helms, Jeff Otto, and Liz Myers
In this episode, Andrea, Jeff, and I discuss our experiences crewing for Joe during the Cocodona 250 race. We talk about how we were selected as crew members and how we got to know each other before the race. We share our initial worries and nervousness about crewing, but also our excitement. Discussing the importance of trust and open communication between the runner and the crew. We share about the challenges faced, including sleep deprivation and nutrition issues. We also highlight the unbreakable bond that formed between us and the memorable moments we experienced during the race. We reflect on our memorable experiences during the Cocodona 250 race, including witnessing the leaders come in at Crown King and exploring different parts of Arizona. We express their gratitude for the opportunity to help Joe and repay him for all he has done for them. We discuss the dynamics of their crew, emphasizing the teamwork and support they provided each other, and also share their thoughts on whether we would crew again and what they would do differently. Finally, they discuss the importance of the running community and the sense of camaraderie and support they experienced as part of the tribe of runners.

003: Natalie Myers on Finding Balance Through Running To Endure Her Crazy Life

002: Joe Corcione and his new Javelina Group Coaching Program
In this episode I talk with Joe Corcione and discusse his Javelina group coaching program, which is designed to help runners prepare for the Javelina 100K and 100-mile races. The program includes a comprehensive guide to the race, including course conditions, terrain, and strategies for managing the heat. It also provides training plans tailored to different experience levels and offers guidance on customizing the plans to individual needs. The program includes 10 group coaching calls covering topics such as constructing a training plan, nutrition and hydration, heat preparation, essential gear, course prep and strategy, race day strategy, and mindset and confidence. Participants also have access to a community where they can connect with other runners training for Javelina. Javelina Jundred is a fun and easy-ish course, making it a great choice for your first 100K or 100-mile race. The course is easy but the heat can be challenging.
