Speech at Columbia
Dennis gave his talk at Columbia last night. There were no disruptions. As a result, he was able to have an excellent dialogue with students… Graduate school applications now ask what you have done to promote the cause of “social justice.”…Elite university presidents can’t conclusively say that calling for the genocide of Jews constitutes “harassment.” Men need women. And women need men. We shouldn't want to lose this essential truth. It's one of the basic building blocks of civilization. Dennis reviews what he told the students at Columbia last night… Can you be anti-Zionist and not antisemitic? Thanks for listening to the Daily Dennis Prager Podcast. Hail Columbia
Dennis will be speaking to Columbia students and faculty tonight… The Columbia School of Social Work calls the October 7 massacre a “counteroffensive.”…A new report published in Scandinavia asks a heretical question: is CO2 the cause of global warming? Dennis contemplates what he should tell the students tonight… He remembers his own days at Columbia. It wasn’t much better than today… The source of many of problems begins on the college campus. It has to end there… Dennis talks to Felice Friedson, founder and editor of the TheMediaLine.org, a Middle East news service based in Jerusalem. Dennis talks to Miriam Grossman, a child and adolescent psychiatrist. Her new book is Lost in Trans Nation: A Child Psychiatrist’s Guide Out of the Madness. A Best of Prager Hour. Night at the Opera
The Met Opera was interrupted by protestors screaming nonsense about global warming. A mob of pro-Hamas supporters shouted antisemitic slogans in front of Philadelphia deli. Why are these demonstrations a feature of the left?... George Santos was expelled from the House. He was convicted of no crimes. The Ethics committee did not recommend kicking him out, but the House — Democrats and Republicans — did it anyway. This sets a terrible precedent. You can divide the world into those who build and those who destroy… The Canadian economy has been moribund since Justin Trudeau became premier… Military recruitment is way down. Maybe the problem is that the Democrats always turn the armed forces into a social experiment. Dennis talks to the irrepressible Leon de Winter, the Netherlands leading novelist and political columnist. Topics include: the recent Dutch elections, immigration, and Israel vs. Hamas. Whiny and Spoiled
Dennis is in St. Louis and asks Julie… why has being successful not gone to your head? They spend time defining success versus accomplishment. Many American kids when asked what they want to be when they grow up answer: famous. Fame is wildly overrated… what matters is that you’ve touched people with good values. They discuss the inversions in modern American society… we have privileged people protesting privilege. Contrived victimhood is sickening. Why is merit considered to be a white supremacist value? Don’t say America is not systemically racist… the Left IS systemically racist. Is there anything the Left could do that would persuade a Democrat to vote Republican? Julie mentions her great interview with Monica Harris, the author of The Illusion of Division. How do you navigate the widening moral and civilizational gap in this world and maintain friendships? Dennis advocates compassion in the micro and standards in the macro. Ron v Gavin
The governor of Florida debated the governor of California last night. They drew a sharp contrast. DeSantis pounded the facts. Newsom slipped and slided around the truth. Dennis analyzes some “highlights.” In which state would you rather live? Did you come to one realization that made you a happier person? Callers have stories. Issues raised include: You say the Left doesn’t want nuclear power… but they do, according to the NYT’s we just don’t have the engineers; I gave up bad words and getting mad at age 55; Republicans are in a conundrum… many people don’t like Trump… the best option is DeSantis; have you ever had your brother on the show; Calhoun’s Utopia – rodent society study compared to human society with regards to reproduction; saying “so what” has changed my life; there are some people who will not leave any inheritance to their children… why would they do that? Rooting for Police State
Not since the 60’s when students shouted slogans in favor of North Vietnamese communists, have students (and many adults) rooted in favor of a police state — in this case Hamas… Dennis talks to Joel Rosenberg, founder and editor-in-chief of All Israel News. A Chicago suburb is now segregating classes between blacks and whites. This is not a white supremacy prescription. This is a leftist plan. They believe that blacks learn better with and from blacks. The left calls this "affinity classes.” Why isn’t it called racism? Dennis talks to David Horowitz, Founder and President of The David Horowitz Freedom Center. His new book is The Radical Mind: The Destructive Plans of the Woke Left. Thanks for listening to the Daily Dennis Prager Podcast. End of Women’s Sports
Students at a Florida high school walk out of class in support of ending women’s sports. The moral rot starts young and runs deep… Catholic Women’s college decides to admit men (men who “identify” as women). The Left destroys one more institution. Did you marry someone because you thought they would make you happy? Did you marry someone thinking you could make this person happy? People can make someone miserable. But rarely can they make someone happy. When the Oakland City Council proposed a resolution to condemn Hamas, they got a lot of leftist pushback, i.e., support for the terrorist group… Greta Thunberg has a new cause: promoting Hamas… A USC professor is suspended because he called for the killing of Hamas terrorists… Thanks for listening to the Daily Dennis Prager Podcast. Morally Confused
There are a lot of morally confused people. If you can’t discern the clear moral difference between Israel and Hamas, you are one of those people… A leader in the 60’s Civil Rights movement would not be comfortable with today’s identity politics… The most important subject to study is history. Miguel Cardona, the Secretary of Education, gets a famous Ronald Reagan quote completely backwards… Imams preach hate of UK mosques… Is Israel in an impossible position re: winning its war against Hamas. Liberal Jews have long believed that the more secular America became the more secure they would be. This was a terrible mistake. Dennis explains. Stabbed
Derek Chauvin was stabbed in prison over the weekend. Why wasn’t he given special protection, given that he must be a target for other prisoners… Israel gets some hostages back and Hamas gets prisoners, food, and medical supplies… Another guy wins women’s trophy and “breaks” a record. This time in swimming the butterfly… Denver schools adopt a “language justice” policy. Dennis wants to know how Thanksgiving went for his listeners. Callers have stories — good, bad and ugly. Dennis talks to Liz Collin, Emmy-award winning reporter, now with our friends at Alpha News in Minneapolis. She hosts the new documentary, The Fall of Minneapolis. You can see it on Rumble. Her book on which the documentary is based is They're Lying: The Media, the Left, and the Death of George Floyd. Thanks for listening to the Daily Dennis Prager Podcast. Dignity
They discuss an auto debacle Dennis had in Minnesota regarding leaving a note. Which leads to Julie sharing that her dad’s check was stolen from the mail. Crime appears to be on the rise, and there is more sympathy for the criminal than ever… is this social justice… a consequence of secular society? While explaining why he left a note… Dennis asks… which is better… doing the right thing for the sake of it, or because one believes that God is judging? If there are no rewards and punishments …morality in society is dead. Does dignity keep good individuals from doing bad things? There is a crisis of religion in the US… people who grew up with religion keep the values but lose the religion. Dennis recalls his visit to death row at Angola State Prison. There is an antidote to evil… Judeo-Christian values.Music: Straight to the Point c 2022Richard Friedman Music Publishing 100%Richard Friedman Writers 100%ASCAP (PRO)IPI128741568RichardFriedmanMusic.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
