9. Getting the Blueprint Right: Best Practices for RPA Process Requirements

When you're configuring your automation, you need a blueprint because a blueprint will tell you what you're building. Once you've decided which process you want to automate, you also need a process to follow. And when you create requirements for automated processes, you'll want to generate a requirements document for future reference.   So if the process is so important, what are the best practices for RPA process requirements?  On this episode of Generation Digital Workforce, Khatina Brunson, customer success manager at Blue Prism, discusses how companies can implement best practices for RPA processes.  Here's what we talked with Khatina about:   Preliminary steps to start the process  What makes a good requirements document for automation  How to capture the details (the level of detail is more intense than most people are used to)  What to avoid when building requirements   To ensure that you never miss an episode of Generation Digital Workforce, subscribe on Apple Podcasts, or Spotify, or here.  Visit us on our socials for more RPA and IA top tips and regular updates: 🦾 Get started with SS&C Blue Prism: https://bit.ly/3ByJorU 🧑‍💻LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/2GP5eKt 🐦Twitter: https://bit.ly/3JHBHUM 🙋‍♀️Facebook: https://bit.ly/3LHQC2L 📸Instagram: https://bit.ly/3TgQCYW 💭Blog: https://bit.ly/3WabzFk 🤩Case studies: https://bit.ly/3VSIj6j Learn what RPA is and how it works: What is RPA? 5. Developing Digital Workforce Maturity in Your Organization

Some companies now employ hundreds or even thousands of digital workers. How can an organization that's just starting out with automation get to that point? What's the maturity curve for a company that wants to build a digital workforce?  We live in a world of high expectations and quick returns, but to transform the way that organizations do business with human laborers versus digital laborers takes time and thoughtful analysis.  On this episode of Generation Digital Workforce, Matt Parsons, Practice Director at Blue Prism, discusses the organizational maturity curve that happens when moving to a digital workforce.  Here's what we talked with Matt about:   Five factors of organizational maturity when developing a digital workforce  The barriers preventing faster adoption of a digital workforce  Real-world examples of what digital workers can do  Where to start when transforming a business' workforce  Hyper Automation: What it is, when it's prevalent, why it comes into play   To ensure that you never miss an episode of Generation Digital Workforce, subscribe on Apple Podcasts, or Spotify, or here.  Visit us on our socials for more RPA and IA top tips and regular updates: 🦾 Get started with SS&C Blue Prism: https://bit.ly/3ByJorU 🧑‍💻LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/2GP5eKt 🐦Twitter: https://bit.ly/3JHBHUM 🙋‍♀️Facebook: https://bit.ly/3LHQC2L 📸Instagram: https://bit.ly/3TgQCYW 💭Blog: https://bit.ly/3WabzFk 🤩Case studies: https://bit.ly/3VSIj6j Learn what RPA is and how it works: https://bit.ly/Robotic-Process-Automation-Explained-RPA Learn what a digital workforce is and how it works: https://bit.ly/what-is-a-digital-workforce

4. Building a Unified Workforce With Human and Digital Workers

Jon Walden and Michael Marchuk from Blue Prism discuss how an enterprise-grade digital workforce integrates with a human team to create a unified workforce to accomplish the goals of the organization. Rather than limiting the organization’s resource pool to just humans, the digital workforce opens up new possibilities for fulfilling the objectives of the business in a new way.    While there are misconceptions about the capabilities of a digital worker compared to a human worker, there are social aspects that need to be considered when managing a unified workforce. Assigning work along the entire process to the appropriate resource which may transition tasks between digital workers and human workers and artificial intelligence algorithms to support the most efficient, accurate, and socially responsible way of producing output for the business.  By leveraging the Blue Prism Robotic Operating Model (ROM), organizations are building a vision to distribute work across a wider base of digital workers with C-Level support. Because the impact of a unified workforce that leverages humans and digital workers that interoperate naturally with each other, the whole organization benefits when the digital workforce is hired as co-workers across every aspect of the business. Since the capabilities are nearly limitless, putting digital workers into a box will limit the benefits to the entire organization.  Here's what we talked with Jon about:   Sourcing options expanding from local (on-shore) and off-shore to now include “digital shore” using digital workers  Work should be assigned to the most effective resource which may be human or digital at each point of the process  Managing a unified workforce should include considerations of human and digital workers  It’s not about having robots replace workers but supporting the humans in a unified way applying the right resource to the right effort.   To ensure that you never miss an episode of Genera4tion Digital Workforce, subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Play.   Visit us on our socials for more RPA and IA top tips and regular updates: 🦾 Get started with SS&C Blue Prism: https://bit.ly/3ByJorU 🧑‍💻LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/2GP5eKt 🐦Twitter: https://bit.ly/3JHBHUM 🙋‍♀️Facebook: https://bit.ly/3LHQC2L 📸Instagram: https://bit.ly/3TgQCYW 💭Blog: https://bit.ly/3WabzFk 🤩Case studies: https://bit.ly/3VSIj6j Learn what RPA is and how it works: https://bit.ly/Robotic-Process-Automation-Explained-RPA Learn more about digital workers: https://bit.ly/3Kz0Cu9

2. What Is a COE, and Why Does Your Company Need One?

There's a misconception going around that automation equals job loss. That can be true, of course, but often, automation gives people the opportunity to skip the boring parts of their jobs and do what they signed up to do in the first place.      But what if your company has automated parts of your job and you still find yourself doing manual entry? Maybe you need a COE.     On this episode of Generation Digital Workforce, Matt Juden-Bloomfield, Head of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) at Blue Prism, discusses what a COE is and why your company might want one.     Here's what we talked with Matt about:  * What a COE, an RPA, and BAU are and why they matter in automated companies  * Why the Robotic Operating Model can help initialize your RPA COE  * How to define and build a COE team  * What Blue Prism's RPA team is working on right now  * Automating new business-as-usual tasks with individual owners  * How to package change in a way that gets people excited instead of afraid  To ensure that you never miss an episode of Generation Digital Workforce, be sure to subscribe!  Visit us on our socials for more RPA and IA top tips and regular updates: 🦾 Get started with SS&C Blue Prism: https://bit.ly/3ByJorU 🧑‍💻LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/2GP5eKt 🐦Twitter: https://bit.ly/3JHBHUM 🙋‍♀️Facebook: https://bit.ly/3LHQC2L 📸Instagram: https://bit.ly/3TgQCYW 💭Blog: https://bit.ly/3WabzFk 🤩Case studies: https://bit.ly/3VSIj6j Learn what RPA is and how it works: https://bit.ly/Robotic-Process-Automation-Explained-RPA
