Hi there - and welcome back to another episode - and this episode is one I believe could change your life, if you choose it to! What I’m about to say may sound simple – but often the best things are. When you want to change something in your life - or when you want to chase a dream and bring it to life - you must do something different. You cannot just do what you’ve always done. In this episode I’m aiming to inspire you to choose one thing you want to do & focus on making that happen for the next 3 months. Just 90 days. Spending a little bit of time on it each day. And where should you start? You just need to take a little time out to figure out exactly WHAT to focus on first. To give you a sense of clarity and inspiration. You don’t need to think about HOW you’ll do it yet. Just work out WHAT to focus on – and this episode gives you some tips on how to do that. At the time of releasing this episode it’s almost May 2022 - and before we know it, half of 2022 is done! So now is a perfect time to reset and get moving on your Dreams and Goals. This episode will help you work out your WHAT – and give you a reason to ‘just start’. Starting is the hardest part – so just start small.“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great!” – Zig Ziglar…and in 3 months’ time you will thank yourself, like so many other people who join my Dream Life community.I can’t wait to hear what you get out of it, so please share your thoughts with us in our Dream Life Podcast private Facebook group here...Have a wonderful weekend!Love,KristinaDream Life Founder SHOW NOTES:Find my powerful 101 Dreams guided audio exercise – FREE for you here…Register or learn more about my FREE 60min Online Live Workshop in early May, Re-set Your Life to Make 2022 The Best It Can Be! here.Learn more about my Dream Life Digital Course here…Download my ‘Letter to Your Future Self’ format here…RESOURCES:Join the Dream Life Podcast Facebook Group here - and jump into discussions and learning with like-minded people. If you love this episode, don’t forget to subscribe for more inspiration – and please tell us what you thought by leaving us a review! …please help up spread this inspiring message to even more people by sharing our podcast on social media with the hashtag #101milliondreamers Download a review of Kristina’s Top 10 Favourite books of all timeBuy Your Dream Life Starts Here audio book, by Kristina KarlssonBuy Your Dream Life Starts Here e-book, by Kristina KarlssonLearn more about my Personal Growth Club - GROW here.Learn more about my Habit Club here.Shop inspiring and meaningful products at The Dream Life Store here.Follow Kristina on Instagram Follow Kristina on FacebookBe inspired to Dream Big as Kristina takes you through her 101 Dreams Audio Guide My dream is to inspire and empower 101 million people around the world, just like you, to write down three dreams, and go chase them! #120 – The Dreaming Path, with Paul Callaghan
Up until Paul Callaghan reached his mid-thirties, he had all the makings of a great Australian success story. Or so it seemed, until on his 35th birthday a nervous breakdown changed everything.Reconnecting with his traditional Aboriginal beliefs and culture is what helped heal him… and eventually led him to write his wonderful book, The Dreaming Path: Indigenous Thinking to Change Your Life. Written with Uncle Paul Gordon.I’ve found so much wisdom, so well shared in his book and in the inspiring conversation we had for this episode of the Dream Life Podcast and I’m sure you will to.Paul is an Aboriginal man belonging to the land of the Worimi people, on the coast of NSW Australia just north of Newcastle, and in this episode, he shares a host of inspiring insights for you, including:How we can learn & grow from our challenges – or ‘storms’ as Paul describes them - which need to be welcomed for the meaning and personal growth they bring (he describes his nervous breakdown as “the most magnificent thing ever”).How the power of story can help us create a better life and world – and that when we leave this world all we leave behind is our stories. Paul challenges us all with profound questions. What stories will be told about you once your life is done? Will you leave a good story? What is your unique story going to be? How will it leave the world a better place? And most importantly, how can you create and own the story you want to leave behind? How the Aboriginal definition of wellbeing contends that no one person can be well if everyone isn’t well, and if the land isn’t well. Built on the premise that we are all connected. How so many have lost their way in a world so full of noise and competing priorities. How so many people try to be all things to all people at all times. Busy, yet with contentment and happiness so elusive. Busy, but doing so little. And what to do about it.The wonderful power of everyday gratitude and the benefits of practicing it.The profound benefits of connecting regularly with friends & family and noticing the good things in life together. The amazing and energy giving joy of connection to country and nature.Paul’s perspective and messages inspired by ancient indigenous thinking are so refreshing and really resonated with me.You are going to really love this episode and I can’t wait to hear what you get out of it, so please share your thoughts with us in our Dream Life Podcast private Facebook group here...Have a wonderful weekend!Love,KristinaDream Life Founder SHOW NOTES:Find Paul’s book here, The Dreaming PathLearn more about my FREE 60min Online Live Workshop late April, Re-set Your Life to Make 2022 The Best It Can Be! here.Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, Susan JeffersThe Happiness Trap, Dr Russ HarrisJoin the Dream Life Podcast Facebook Group here - and jump into discussions with like-minded people. If you love this episode, don’t forget to subscribe for more inspiration – and please tell us what you thought by leaving us a review! …please help up spread this inspiring message to even more people by sharing our podcast on social media with the hashtag #101milliondreamers RESOURCES:Download a review of Kristina’s Top 10 Favourite books of all timeBuy Your Dream Life Starts Here audio book, by Kristina KarlssonBuy Your Dream Life Starts Here e-book, by Kristina KarlssonLearn more about my Personal Growth Club - GROW here.Learn more about my Habit Club here.Learn more about my Dream Life Digital Course here.Shop inspiring and meaningful products at The Dream Life Store here.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#119 - All You Need Is One Thought To Change Your Life.
Hello & welcome to another episode - as we celebrate over 1.5m podcast episode downloads in over 160 countries! I am so excited that our positive messages are spreading around the world, helping people discover and chase their dreams! As I was out walking the other day, I thought of a couple of questions that I often get: Where do I start? Where do I start with working out what my Dream Life could look like? And while I was walking, I reflected back to my own beginning, when I started thinking about what my dream life could look like.Back then I did a lot of researching, attended lots of talks, read lots of books and did a lot of courses. But as I reflected more on that, what I realised was that when it comes down to it, all you need is one thought to change your life. It sounds very simple, but from my experience it’s true. Enjoy this episode where I explore this theme and I'll talk you through a couple of questions that will help you get started. It’s so fun evolving as a person. Being in the driver’s seat of your own life. Working to create your Dream Life. It’s not easy but it’s a lot of fun - and much more enjoyable than accepting a life that you don’t totally love.Remember. This is your life; you don’t need anyone’s permission to evolve. All you need is to start with one simple thought…Decide to grow, evolve and change ...and you’re on your way. I can’t wait to hear what you get out of this episode, so please share your thoughts with with me in our Dream Life Podcast private Facebook group here...Have a wonderful weekend!Love,Dream Life Founder SHOW NOTES:Learn more about my Personal Growth Club - GROW here.Learn more about my Habit Club here.Join the Dream Life Podcast Facebook Group here - and jump on discussions with like-minded people. If you love this episode, don’t forget to subscribe for more inspiration – and please tell us what you thought by leaving us a review! …please help up spread this inspiring message to even more people by sharing our podcast on social media with the hashtag #101milliondreamers RESOURCES:Download a review of Kristina’s Top 10 Favourite books of all timeBuy Your Dream Life Starts Here audio book, by Kristina KarlssonBuy Your Dream Life Starts Here e-book, by Kristina KarlssonBuy your Dream Life Journal: https://www.kikki-k.com/au/shop-by/collection/dream-life/Follow Kristina on Instagram Follow Kristina on FacebookBe inspired to Dream Big as Kristina takes you through her 101 Dreams Audio Guide My dream is to inspire and empower 101 million people around the world, just like you, to write down three dreams, and go chase them! #118: Simple Tips & Solutions For Tech/Life Balance, with Tanya Goodin
Hello, and welcome to another Episode!According to Tanya Goodin, my guest on this week's Dream Life Podcast, one of the biggest wake-up calls to come from the global pandemic has been that... "It's given us a glimpse of a future lived almost entirely through screens, isolated from those we love, growing lonelier and more disconnected day-by-day."And Tanya is well placed to comment, as a trailblazing author, pioneering thinker, campaigner on digital wellbeing and expert on tech-life balance. Her compelling message for us all?"We must urgently reset our relationship with tech and our devices in order to forge healthier, happier lives."And Tanya's mission in life is to help global audiences do just that.So if you ever catch yourself mindlessly scrolling through devices - losing track of time. Jumping from thing to thing online. Tangled in a web of information and stimulus... and feeling at times like your brain has too many tabs open.Or if you're worried about someone you care about who does that - then this episode will be really insightful for you.Our devices and the information, images and experiences they open up at our fingertips - while enlightening and valuable in so many ways - have changed life irrevocably for us all in recent years. And without doubt that's coming at a cost.In her most recent book "My Brain Has Too Many Tabs Open", Tanya asks us "What are you willing to lose for a connected life?" Firstly exploring the cost that our digital life inflicts on our offline existence, and then offering a toolkit to anyone who has lost their way.And on this inspiring podcast episode Tanya offers a host of simple solutions.Well worth a listen...After interviewing Tanya I've been so much more mindful of how I use my tech, and I’m contemplating doing a digital detox in May, alongside doing Mindful in May.If you haven't signed up to do Mindful in May with us, give it consideration. We'll be meditating 10 minutes a day - supporting each other along the way - and by the end of May it'll become a habit for us all. #116 –Dr Elise Bialylew: Embracing Happiness & Calm Thru Simple Meditation
Hello there! Happy International Day of Happiness! Maybe you’re a little like me and find that in challenging times, happiness can be something that’s difficult to embrace – as we experience hardship or feel for so many others experiencing difficulties. But regardless of what’s happening externally, we need to ‘keep on keeping on’ so that we can be the best we can be for ourselves and for others who depend on us. So as I reflect on what happiness means to me today, I feel it’s really important to not give up on the notion of embracing and experiencing happiness - regardless. We’re all different, but I wanted to share one thing with you that I find tremendously valuable in difficult circumstances - which always brings me an inner sense of happiness no matter what is happening around me.Meditation.For me, it’s a wonderful and lasting feeling to take time out to stop and embrace stillness. Going inside and shutting out the outside world - even if only for minutes. So it’s really appropriate that my podcast guest this week is someone who knows a thing or two about mediation – the inspiring Dr Elise Bialylew – author of The Happiness Plan and founder of the world’s largest online mindfulness campaign, Mindful In May.No matter how much or how little experience you have with meditation, this episode is worth a listen as Dr Elise shares practical insights into meditation and it’s proven everyday benefits - including how it can help grow emotional intelligence and even create genetic level changes, like reducing inflammation in your body.I know you’ll enjoy the episode! And if you’re curious about meditation and feel you need a little nudge and support to embrace meditation as a daily habit, come on and join us as the Dream Life community signs up to do Mindful in May together.Dr Elise has set-up Mindful in May as a transformative but very simple 31-day program – where hundreds of thousands of people from around the world join-in to meditate daily for just 10 minutes, supported by a great community and with daily support, guided meditations, education and tools from Elise and her Mindful in May team and contributors. The idea is to help you build a simple and sustainable meditation practice in just one month – that can bring you benefits for a lifetime. If you choose you can opt-in to help raise money for clean water projects as well. By the end of May you will have stepped into greater calm and made changes for life. It’s a great way to transform your mind & life while helping others. Here’s the link to find out more information and join. And for anyone interested, we’ll be reading Dr Elise’s book The Happiness Plan during April in GROW – my Personal Growth/Book Club, so when Mindful in May starts we’ll be ready to dive in together! And lucky us in GROW – we’ll have Dr Elise join one of our Monday night sessions to host a live meditation and Q&A. It’s going to be amazing, so please consider joining us. Find out more here... So while the world around us remains uncertain, let’s go inwards together to find strength and happiness – and make the world a better place, starting with us.Hope to see you in GROW in April and Mindful in May, in May!Love,KristinaPS: Research shows it only takes 10 minutes of meditation a day to see significant positive benefits to your life!SHOW NOTES:Here’s the link to find out more information and join Mindful in MayLink to the first podcast episode I did with with Elise – Episode 72The Happiness Plan by Dr Elise BialylewBook Elise mentions in the interview: Kelly McGonigal, The Joy of MovementLearn more about my Personal Growth Club - GROW here. #115 – Something Quite Personal. My Resilience Go-to-List of Six for You.
Hello Again! I feel compelled to share something quite personal in this episode – I think it might be of help right now. When meditating earlier this week, I was overcome with a deep sense of hopelessness and sadness about what’s been happening in the world lately.I felt it physically and profoundly – and I just sat with the feeling and let it all come out. Feeling for my fellow human beings – children, women, men, families - and what so many are enduring right now.And then, when I was ready, I changed gears - reminding myself that in challenging times like this, and with so much out of my control, I needed to turn inwards and take time to build my strength and resilience. For me that means things like time meditating, time walking in nature and time journaling. When I do those things, I’m better able to cope and be my best for those who rely on me. In case it resonates with you and is helpful, this week’s episode focus’s on my resilience go-to list of six.Focussing on this list of six does wonders for me – and I hope it inspires you or someone you want to share it with. If you haven’t done any meditation or haven’t found the right meditation for you, as I mention in this episode we’ll be reading The Happiness Plan by Dr Elise Bialylew in April in GROW my personal growth / book club. Learn more here.In The Happiness Plan, the wonderful Elise draws on her background in medicine, psychiatry and mindfulness meditation to take us on a simple one-month guided program - leading us to a more balanced and fulfilled existence despite the challenges around us.Elise is the founder of Mindful in May and we’ll have her coming in to do a live meditation with us during GROW as well as taking any questions. And we’ll also be doing Mindful in May together in GROW if you want to. If this is for you, sign up to GROW here. #114 –Hugh von Cuylenburg: If ever there’s a time for us to be resilient, it's now.
It’s a very challenging time right now, and my heart goes out to the people in Ukraine - and all of you who are impacted in various ways by recent events. It’s so hard to hear the news and see how people are suffering, while trying to work out what we can do as individuals as well as continuing with the challenges in our own lives. I don’t have the answer, but I do know that my Podcast episode this week will help you build resilience while dealing with what is happening in the world - and being your best for yourself and others who depend on you.My guest is the amazing Hugh von Cuylenburg - founder and author of The Resilience Project - who has recently launched a new, very timely book called Let Go – It’s time for us to let go of shame, expectation, and our addiction to social media. Listen as Hugh goes deep in sharing his personal journey of how during the height of the Covid pandemic he realised he just wasn't coping well – and felt broken - at a time when he was trying to support thousands of others through his role as a ‘go to’ educator.Like millions of others around the world, Hugh was forced to reassess life as world events undermined our sense of safety, strangled our personal connections and saw levels of happiness plunge. His insights on letting go as a way of building personal resilience are particularly timely and relevant now given the situation we're watching unfold in the Ukraine. It’s such a wonderful conversation and timely. I hope you enjoy. Please let me know in my Podcast Facebook group what you will let go of, so we can all support each other.Dream Big!Love,Kristina SHOW NOTES:Let Go by Hugh Van Cuylenburg Stolen Focus by Johann Hari (the book Hugh referred to)Learn more about my Personal Growth Club - GROW here. #113 – Letting Go...
Hi there and welcome to another episode! Things don’t always go to plan, right? Well, my plan to interview the inspiring Hugh Van Cuylenburg for this episode didn’t work out… however, instead I’ve decided to review his wonderful new book Let Go – and we’ll have Hugh as a guest on a future episode. So, have you ever had something eating you up inside with frustration, anger or hurt, and thought 'I need to let go of that!'? I sure have - which is why I'm really excited about the latest book I've been reading, Let Go by the inspiring Hugh Van Cuylenburg (founder of The Resilience Project). We're also reading it in GROW - my personal growth / book club - in March – and that is exciting! The dictionary defines 'letting go' as 'to stop thinking about or being angry about the past, or something that happened in the past' - and research shows there are many benefits for us when we let go. ...so, there is a lot to be gained by letting go of things that cause us pain! Hugh starts the book talking about things he needed to let go of - which he'd initially started to write down in a journal. Things including: Shame; Expectation; Perfection; Control; Fear of failure; Social media; and Ego. Maybe you can relate to needing to let go some of the above, along with pain from specific experiences you may have had. I hope you enjoy my review of Hugh’s wonderful book which combines powerful insights with research and his own candid and honest storytelling to show how it is possible to let go and rediscover joy. And if you feel you'd like to read and discuss this great book with like-minded people, why not consider joining us in GROW for March where Hugh's book will be our focus. #112 – When we change our thinking we change our lives.
Hi there and welcome to another episode! Oh my, I got so much great feedback from the last episode with the incredible Dr James Rouse – so you haven’t listened to that yet, make sure you do. It’s so good and he is just such a special human. So so inspiring. Following that, today is a short episode where I talk about the importance of getting our thinking right – inspired by the book written by Dr James and his partner Dr Debra Rouse – Think Eat Move Thrive. We’re currently reading it in GROW – my online personal growth/book club – and last week in our weekly GROW catchup on Zoom we read and talked through the THINK part of their book. I’ve done a lot of work on my own thinking – particularly after all the negative experiences of the last two years – and my experience has reinforced yet again that when we change our thinking, we change our lives.I hope this episode inspires you think about how you think, and to contemplate working on your thinking as a way of enhancing your experience of life.I do hope you enjoy the episode, and if you do share it with your friends.Dream Big!Love KSHOW NOTES:Think Eat Move Thrive by Dr James Rouse & Dr Debra RouseLearn more about my Personal Growth Club - GROW here.
