In January 2016, he was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader. He sits in the International Council of Advisors of Global Dignity. Patrick Youssef joined the ICRC in 2005 and completed different missions in Sudan, Chad, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay. Between 2010 & 2013, he was the deputy head of operations for the Near and Middle East covering Yemen, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Gulf Cooperation Council. Mr. Youssef was the Head of the delegation in Iraq for more than 2 years, before taking the role of Deputy Regional Director for Africa, where he managed ICRC operations in the Maghreb, the Sahel region, the Lake Chad Basin, and West Africa. In addition to his field experience, Mr. Youssef worked on specific topics related to the respect of International Humanitarian Law such as the treatment and judicial guarantees of persons deprived of freedom, the recruitment of children in the armed forces, and Transitional Justice. Prior to joining the ICRC, Patrick worked in the private sector in Lebanon & the Levant. Born in 1978, Patrick Youssef has a bachelor’s degree in public law, a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and Strategic Negotiations from Paris Sud XI, an LLM in International Law in armed conflicts from Geneva University, a certificate of completion of an Executive Education on Global Leadership and Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School as well as a training certificate from the Oxford Said Business School on ‘’Transformational Leadership’’

Karla is a native of Mexico and joined Eli Lilly as a Market Research Manager in Mexico in 2006. Her first four years within the business were spent in assignments in marketing and sales before moving to the United States of America to assume a Global Brand Leadership Role. In 2013, Karla returned to Mexico to lead the primary care business and then took over the responsibility of leading the BioMedicine Business Unit of Latin America, the Caribbean, and Mexico. In 2015, she assumed the role of Senior Director, Chief Marketing Officer of the LACAM region overseeing the marketing functions and leading the digital transformation within the business, before moving in January 2018 to lead as the General Manager of the Brazilian affiliate. Karla holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (ITAM - Mexico) and a Master's in Business Administration - MBA from Tulane University, USA. After her Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree from Harvard University, Daphne received her M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco. While at UCSF she served as Vice-Chair for Research and Educational Program Director. Daphne has been elected in 2019 to the National Academy of Medicine, considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine. In addition, Dr. Mady has experience conducting translational research at the Cardiovascular Research Center at Harvard Medical School/Mass General Hospital. His laboratory/clinical research is focused on stem cell applications in Heart diseases and Diabetes, where he investigated the differentiation of stem cells into mature heart cells and created human cardiac tissue engineering models. Ahmed earned his Medical Degree from Alexandria University in Egypt, having done several rotations in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in the United States. Jeremy started his career as a research biologist and then joined Eli Lilly in 1986 as a sales representative going through multiple assignments in the UK, USA, and France with increasing responsibility before becoming a General Manager in 2003 for the company's operations in Turkey.  Further General Management jobs followed in Australia and then Germany before taking on the leadership of the international Diabetes business covering Europe, Japan, Canada, Australia, and NZ. After retiring in 2017, Jeremy took the opportunity to try something different and consulted in the market access space for a couple of years before returning to his passion and joining Kyowa Kirin International to lead the rare disease business. Jeremy is a champion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and brings extensive external engagement experience from multiple charity and industry boards including EuropaBio. Jeremy is Welsh, married to Clare - has 2 kids, and lives just outside Cobham in Surrey, UK.  In his spare time, he enjoys all sports, long-distance walking and loves to cook.
