Do you remember last time when Dac and Jaymee were oh-so-sure Elend would never be easily convinced to leave the city? Yeah, that was funny, wasn't it? Anyway, there's a wedding, and then Vin and Elend leave the city. (Dac is ready to throw in the predigments tower at this point). Meanwhile, Joe has COVID and yet his dedication to the show is so strong that he shows up for the discussion anyway. This guy. So what kind of mess do we make of it all this week? We're back and more non-sensical than ever. There are some big things happening in these chapters, and one of them may or may not have been predicted by Joe for quite some time, and, oh, isn't he smug about it. On the other hand, everyone is absolutely delighted to see the end of Zane. Things are starting to get revealed, and the eponymous sanderlanche seems to be revving up. This week there's a really spectacular fight that leaves no one feeling very good, particularly not Vin, but our newbies aren't far behind her there. They're all pretty united in their hatred for Zane at this point, though. So that's something. We're moving in to the last quarter of the book now, and people are starting to get on edge a bit. Vin sits out these chapters entirely, and, surprisingly, our crew is kind of energized by that. Maybe it's the fact that Elend is finally acting like a king, or maybe it's the part where he makes a suicidal stroll through the koloss camp. Regardless, Dac, Jaymee and Joe are loving the Elend-heavy chapters. Who thought we'd ever say something like that after how they felt at the end of The Final Emprie, right? Be careful what you wish for. Our crew finally gets their long-awaited action scene, and it's ... it's a rough one. There's body parts exploding and Vin taking a beating. Not for the faint of heart, basically. We also get the election we've been building to for oh-so-many chapters now, and it's a bit rough as well. Basically, this episode is one great big monkey's paw. Beware! Beware The Sanderlanche!

Our crew is really vibing with these chapters, despite the continued lack of action scenes. Don't get me wrong, Joe and Dac still don't love Cett, but our friends from Terris have finally started really digging into this research on the Deepness, and that's got everyone excited, not to mention our first Breeze POV. The sad part is, we're quickly running out of suspects for who the Kandra is. Could Joe have been right all along? Anything is possible on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

In this episode, we've got some meta discussions of the book and how we're feeling now that we're about halfway through. Jaymee has had enough of library book club scenes, and Joe and Dac have both already had enough of Cett, despite this being his first actual appearance. Then we get into some of the secret, hidden mysteries of the Kandra and get outraged that Vin doesn't care as much as we do. There are so many juicy secrets out there just beyond our reach, and our crew is starting to get tired of that too, on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

A deep discussion of The Deepness takes place in these chapters, and our newbies couldn't be happier about it. Who cares about who gets to be king when there's a mysterious (possibly tentacle-laden) monster out there waiting to destroy the world ... or something. You know, it's not entirely clear. In any case, that's followed up by the shocking and unexpected introduction of Cett himself. Now this is good television - err - book. Everyone was surprised by this twist, but only one of our hosts instantly shouts the equivalent of, "Off with his head!" Vin and Elend go into the beast's lair, and we spend a decent amount of time realizing just how disgusting Straff Venture really is. I mean, we thought he was bad before, but that was peanuts to what we get to see from him this week. Our newbies are still looking for some action to kick off, but they keep getting politics instead. Ah well, with three armies hanging around and an anonymous allomancer hit squad in the wings, we're bound to get some good stuff at some point, right? Unless everyone decides to sit down and talk things out like mature adults. Not bloody likely, not if we have our way on this week's episode of The Sanderlanche!

In this episode, everyone but Tindwyl is happy to have Sazed back in town; no one but Breeze cares much for Allrianne; and each of our three newbies is ready for some action to kick off. Shockingly, no one was thrilled that we took a chapter off to go shopping. Go figure.
