Dr. Tuong Vu is professor and Department Head of the Department of Political Science at the University of Oregon. He is the founder and director of the US-Vietnam Research Center also based at the University of Oregon. He has held visiting appointments at Princeton University and National University of Singapore and taught at the Naval Postgraduate School.A native of Vietnam, his research focuses on the politics of nationalism, communism, revolution, and state-building in East and Southeast Asia. Lawrence D'Attilio is a board member of The Global Village, a Vietnamese American charity organization and an established artist primarily based in Los Angeles. He was based in Vietnam for 54 months through twelve years, 2006 - 2018.His photography book "The Soul of Vietnam" was published by ‘The Gioi” in Vietnam in 2016 with a parallel sixty image circulating exhibit appearing in three locations in Ha Noi, one in Malaysia and later in three U.S. museums. He has had exhibitions in Vietnam, Spain, Italy, Malaysia and the U.S.He also has taught photography as adjunct instructor in several universities and in the U.S. Embassy in Ha Noi. His images focuses on people, especially in Vietnam, has been directly aided through studying the artworks of famed photo journalist W. Her mission is to increase mulitcultural representation of individuals in France by sharing of people’s stories and experiences, so that others (worldwide) can find themselves and understand their own identities.She has met that goal by organizing and collaborating with other collectives for film screenings, talks, live podcasts, exhibition, festivals (she's co-produced the 1st Asian Street Food Festival in Paris).At the age of 24, Linda left France to explore Asia and ended up living there for 8 years in South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand as well as traveling to different parts of Asia: China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, India and Japan.Living and traveling to these countries has helped her understand parts of her own upbringing and the complexities of integrating her own Asian culture as it related to her being born and raised in a Western country, such as France. Peter Steinhauer is a husband, a father, and an artist photographer, who has been living and working in Asia since 1993. Steinhauer’s first artist monograph, Vietnam: Portraits and Landscapes, was published by Edition Stemmle in 2001. Enduring Spirit of Vietnam, his second artist monograph was awarded Best Photography Book of the Year 2007 by PDN. Cocoons, Steinhauer's third monograph was published by Powerhouse Books in January 2019. His prints are in the collections of the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and a growing number of private and corporate collections world wide. He is a recipient of numerous international photography awards including a finalist for the Lucie Award for International Photographer of the Year 2014, and 2017 won a Lucie Award for his Cocoons publication, a Ford Foundation grant for his multi year work in Vietnam, Black and White Spider Award for Architecture, IPA and PX3 Paris awards, three Communication Arts Photography Annual Award of Excellence awards, among others.
