320 - Ross Le - Finding Family After 70 years
The Le family, separated for 70 years, is celebrating a special reunion this Christmas. Le Dinh Toai was a young merchant ship captain in Saigon in the early 1950's. He was a talented man who spoke four languages and had two children. His family adored him and were proud of his success.Tragically in 1952, Le Dinh Toai passed away suddenly in a car accident in Vietnam, leaving behind a five-year-old son, Le Manh Trung, who was living in Hong Kong. Le Dinh Toai's surviving four siblings in Vietnam grieved deeply and began to search for their nephew, Le Manh Trung, Ross Le's father.Now after over 70 years, thanks to social media, Ross Le has reconnected with his father's side of the family. They had lost hope of finding Le Manh Trung, now in his mid-70s. Ross has recently visited his father's long lost sister in Saigon, whom his father never knew, and met many cousins in Hue and Saigon. Ross now living in Los Angeles, also found more relatives in Garden Grove, making the reunion even more special.We're delighted to share this heartwarming story of the Le family's reunion. Bao Han is the only Vietnamese singer from Paris by Night who comes from Vienna, Austria. Her family left Vietnam in 1975 and resettled in Europe when she was 2 years old. Bao Han went to St. Ursula, an all girl's school in Vienna. Upon graduation, she attended college to study drama and liberal arts.Bao Han's very first experience in front of a large audience came when at age 14, she performed in front of 5,000 people in a Vietnamese summer camp in Holland.In 1990, Bao Han entered a beauty pageant in Paris and became the second runner up. She was signed by Thanh Le Paris to be one of their models. While at a performance in Paris, Bao Han was discovered by the management of Thuy Nga Productions, the company that produces Paris by Night. In 1992, she signed an exclusive contract with Thuy Nga Productions and has seen appeared in most of the Paris by Night music videos.In recent years, Bao Han has been working alongside her husband as the creative director at Tee Studios and living with Parkinson's Disease. A frequent speaker and trainer on immigration law, Ms. Luu-Ng represents clients from all parts of the globe, and is committed to delivering the highest standards of ethical and professional legal services.Prior to joining Reeves Immigration Law Group, Kim was the founder and managing partner of KLN Firm PC, a boutique immigration law firm that exclusively practiced business, family, and humanitarian immigration law. She also worked at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) where she represented survivors of torture and other forms of severe violence (human trafficking, domestic violence, and serious crimes) in immigration matters.Kim has also served inside U.S. detention centers under the auspices of the Executive Office of Immigration Review’s Legal Orientation Program, representing immigrant detainees, and providing legal orientation and training, and coordinating pro bono representation.
