Fr. John Anthony Boughton, CFR, grew up down the road from the BeatiDudes studio in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and was commissioned into the US Naval Reserve. After his service, Fr. John Anthony worked in sales. Fr. John Anthony had a conversion to the Catholic faith during a series of miracles and encounters in Medjugorje. He then joined the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in 1996 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2005.Fr. John Anthony provides The BeatiDudes with a reflection on forgiveness and tools for achieving deeper forgiveness. Forgiveness is a choice of the will. It is not an emotion. It is not forgetting. It is a grace-filled act of the will that relies on God to be complete. Fr. Andy Churray’s tattooed arms are an outward symbol of the interior reality of his faith walk. Together with the fake tattoo sleeves worn by The BeatiDudes, Andy shares some of his favorite tattoos and the original stories for several of his faith-focused ink. Andy is the interim Executive Director for Vagabond Missions. As Jesus was a vagabond during his earthly ministry, wandering to the margins of society to bring home the wanderers, Vagabond missionaries follow his example and bring the Good News to those the world ignores. Vagabond missionaries build friendships with and serve teens in urban and inner-city communities through weekly programs, outreach, and personal mentorship.When Bob and Kate Lesnefsky took their first positions in youth ministry at a parish in Schenectady, NY, they were surprised to find an inner-city community. They were even more surprised at how much fulfillment they found in bringing the Gospel to those on the margins. After four years in New York, Bob took what he believed at the time was the “dream” youth ministry job at a wealthy parish in Texas, but it only took a few months for him and Kate to realize that God was calling them back to the inner city.Teens in the inner city face a cycle of neglect, violence, and broken family life. This destructive environment has dire consequences for them and society. Vagabond Missions intervenes during this time of crisis by inviting them into a relationship with God and others. Through outreach and mentorship, teens experience hope for their lives and a place to call home. Fr. David Michael Moses is a young priest who grew up in Houston, Texas. He started college at 14 and earned his bachelor’s degree at 18. He was accepted into several law schools but ultimately felt called to the priesthood and entered the seminary for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Fr. David Michael was ordained at 25 and is now the parochial vicar at Christ the Good Shepherd in Spring, Texas. He enjoys writing music, and his “Concerts for Life” have collectively raised over 1 million dollars to assist women in crisis pregnancies. Fr. Dr. David Wright, the Headmaster at Subiaco Academy, joins the BeatiDudes to share about his childhood, conversion, and journey to higher education. Subiaco Academy is a Catholic College Preparatory School in the Benedictine tradition that welcomes young men of all faiths in grades 7-12. Sitting on 1,200 acres of land where you can fish, hunt, hike, and camp on the property, Subiaco was just named the fourth most beautiful boarding school in the world by Architectural Digest. The youngest of five children, Dr. Wright was raised Presbyterian with parents who put faith at the forefront of their family. After marrying his wife and having three daughters, Dr. Wright decided to convert and join the Catholic church.
