I've made it abundantly clear that my no. 1 favorite film of the year is Emerald Fennell's directorial debut "Promising Young Woman." Having seen the film a year ago at Sundance, it stayed at my no. 1 slot all year long and now, it even finds itself in the Oscar conversation. Receiving a chance to talk to the film's leading star Carey Mulligan and Emerald Fennell was such a thrill for me as I got many questions answered and behind-the-scenes insight into one of the best films of the year, what it means to the both of them and more! Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has had a huge rise within the film industry over the past few years. Kornél Mundruczó gained international recognition with his films playing at the Cannes International Film Festival, most notably 2014's "White God." "Herself" premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim for Clare Dunn's lead performance and her screenplay. However, there have been other notable elements which have flown under the radar since its premiere, including the direction by Phyllida Lloyd and the performances from the rest of the ensemble.
