After many DM's on IG we invited Francisco Scaramanga to join us on Fifth Wrist Radio. Christian is an independent watchmaker based in Denmark, currently making bespoke and commission watches for collectors. Christian has previously worked for star watchmaker Vianney Halter and had spent the last 9 years as the head watchmaker of the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva. We talk about how to get into watchmaking; language skills you need to work in the industry; how to restore watches or ride motorbikes in Kazakhstan; and just what it takes to get a job looking after the Patek Philippe Museum Collection at age 29! You will also hear Christian’s hand-made minute repeater chime the time; and how his wife can carve a portrait of Hans Christian Andersen on a sliver of gold 1mm in size.
