[FFL 91] How to Consistently Perform at Peak Performance

Do you get frustrated at how long things are taking? Do you think things should be much easier? As a coach, I notice impatience is normal among fierce feminine leaders, so rest assured you’re not alone.  Possessing and bringing a sense of urgency to your business is a positive step but it can go the opposite way where your impatience causes you to resist embracing a high level of performance. Years ago, I had the opportunity to interview Stanford University psychologist Dr. Carol Dweck who is the author of the book Mindset which is like a bible to me in my coaching practice. Her book pinpoints two type of mindsets, fixed and growth, and how we use these attitudes to either move forward or keep us back from realizing our goals.  So, on today’s episode, I’ll talk about fixed and growth mindset so you understand what may be keeping you back from your goals. Our attitudes are not set in stone, and many intelligent and competitive women break out of their negative mindsets to achieve success no matter how long it takes.   Here’s a Breakdown of Today’s Show:   I’ll tell you about what the fixed mindset does that may hold you back in your business or career pursuits. When you’re in a growth mindset, you are open to learning, and there’s no stopping how far you can go to see success. I’ll tell you about what happens when you focus on how long something will take you. I address those who get discouraged by the length of time it takes to get to their goals.   My Challenge to You: Get in the zone; you have to flip the switch so that you see that the length of time it takes to see success is a path to mastery and not something you’re doing wrong. Focus on the ground you cover in your pursuit of achievement instead of focusing on how long it takes to get to your destination.     Mentioned on Today’s Show: Mindset by Dr. Carol Dweck     My Invitation to You Let’s make 2017 your year for success, for courage, for being the fierce female leader you know you can be! [FFL 89] Women Don't Ask For Help- 5 Ways To Do It

An interesting point was mentioned during my last episode while interviewing Vicki Saunders, the founder of SheEO. She said that women are not asking for help in their businesses – that many women feel they need to do everything on their own in order to be, or feel, successful and accomplished. In reality, though, it is incredibly hard to do everything on your own without asking for help and developing a team.
