The Missing Piece (Mary Williams)

Special "business revenue leak checklist" offer, free at http://www.mrse.co/leak. Creating a successful course requires attention to market demand, but how do you know what that demand is, and how can you provide solutions within a client’s comfort zone? Sometimes the missing piece is a little outside of where you are looking. Mary Williams, founder of Sensible Woo, discovered opportunities to use what did resonate with clients in an effort to help them with challenges outside their comfort zone.      In this episode, Mary, Danny and Abe discuss looking past the obvious issue and digging into why your clients are facing the challenges they are facing. Mary describes how she engineered a framework for her course that helped her clients overcome challenges they could not clearly see by incorporating familiar and comfortable skills and concepts. • In this episode we discuss:Being aware of the issues behind your clients’ challengesCombining strategies within your course to deliver solutionsUsing marketing structures that encourage commitment from clientsValuing your services appropriatelyDigging even deeper with Danny and Abe’s post-interview debrief.“I think [clients] really need a bridge that they can understand.” “Teaching [clients] those flexibility and resilience skills is, I think, part of the process too, and they don't really realize that's what they're doing.” – Mary WilliamsGuest Bio:Mary is the Chief Technology Therapist at Sensible Woo, where she teaches highly sensitive & neurodivergent online business owners how to replace technological chaos with a harmonious system. Create Transformative Learning Journeys (Mel Stanley)

Special "business revenue leak checklist" offer, free at http://www.mrse.co/leak.Mel Stanley, founder of FirstWoman.rocks, knew that she had to pivot really quickly when her revenue streams dried up due to the pandemic. When she stopped panicking, she successfully created her virtual coaching practice.      Mel is the creator of the course, Brand for Success, which is designed to create meaningful transformation for her clients, who are exclusively women. In her course and coaching practice, she aims a hammer at the glass ceiling. Not only that, but the hammer is aimed at the concept of “online courses” itself. Listen in as Abe and Danny coin a new term.In this episode, we discuss:How using free 20-minute speed coaching sessions is a wonderful tool to create course content—and fill your pilot. Using polls on LinkedIn to distill what problems women have stepping up into leadership positions. Using coaching as an approach to help students get results. What a playbook is and how Mel uses it in her course. A new term for online courses!Danny and Abe’s debrief after the interview.“I thought I was doing everybody a favor by making it shorter. In fact, what they wanted was longer so they could have more chats.” – Mel StanleyGuest Bio: Mel Stanley is a Personal Branding and Marketing Strategist, CMO, and Board Director and the founder of FirstWoman, a consulting and coaching firm helping ambitious, professional women and Founders achieve success and recognition. She works exclusively with aspiring women who want to be successful on their terms without compromising who they are or their values and principles.       “There’s always a woman before you who was the first to achieve something. You can be ‘a first,’ too. Nothing is unreachable,” says Mel. She’s a firm believer that women have all the necessary talent, but sometimes lack the clarity, confidence, and visibility required to compete effectively, to stand out from the crowd and become instantly recognizable in a way that articulates their unique strengths and qualities.      She feels that the world needs more senior females, especially, to be around the Board table when decisions are being made that impact women--especially decisions concerning issues such as equal opportunity, the pay gap, flexible working options, and maternity leave.Follow Mel and follow her hashtag, #successwithoutcompromise for discussions on these topics:Personal Branding Strategy for womenGender inequalityCats!! Special "business revenue leak checklist" offer, free at http://www.mrse.co/leak.Sharon Richmond, founder of Leading Large and creator of the course Candid Conversation, isn’t locked into a specific mental model of what a course should be, how to start designing it, or how to implement a course. She has an interesting approach that all course creators should start with – identify the hard and meaningful problem first.     As an executive coach, she focuses on senior leadership to help create lasting change in an organization. With the course, she helps executives learn how to have a difficult conversation and, therefore, begin to create a more candid culture within their organization.• In this episode we discuss:Sharon describes what brought her to create a B2B course for a larger group of leaders. The very focused feedback to participants throughout three synchronous sessions. When it’s important to say “No” to students. The size of the cohorts, business model, and how to provide coaching sessions with coach facilitators. Danny and Abe’s debrief after the interview.“We've mostly been focusing on senior leadership. The Exponential Power of a Group (Jackie Roberge)

Special "business revenue leak checklist" offer, free at http://www.mrse.co/leak.Conventional wisdom might say that Jackie’s experiential course material must be taught at an in-person retreat, but Jackie has developed a method that enables her to bring that material to a group online. This method forms the basis of her six-week online course “Purpose, Values & Vision,” in which Jackie helps clients to channel the passion, energy, and drive that comes from living a purpose-driven life.In this episode of Course Lab, Danny and Abe discuss Jackie’s course and explore how she successfully leverages interactive group coaching in order to help clients develop concrete and impactful purpose statements. Jackie explains how she discovered that group coaching is far more empowering than individual coaching and how she utilizes laser-focused sessions and guided visualization to help clients tap into their vision, passion, and purpose. In this episode we discuss:How to ensure that the roadmap for her course ”Purpose, Values & Vision” will be successful at the end. Why challenging limiting beliefs in the first session is an important step in the course. How she found out that group coaching was MORE impactful than one-on-one coaching, and in what way.How letting the students write down their purpose statements and go through guided visualizations help them tap more strongly into their vision, passion, and purpose.Danny and Abe’s debrief after the interview“The feeling capacity of people is really the way to get and to stay on the purpose path. Thinking is overrated. Sensing is much more powerful.”  – Jackie RobergeJackie Roberge is a Leadership Coach and Facilitator at Business&Beyond. She is dedicated to helping clients experience the passion, energy, and drive that comes from living a purpose-driven life. Driven leaders work with her to move beyond corporate ambition and profits and get clear on their big, purposeful contributions.      Jackie used to work in the corporate world and found herself wondering... is this all there is? Marketing and strategic planning were not her end game. She wanted to contribute more, make a bigger impact, and feel more passion and fulfillment. So she pursued TM (Transcendental Meditation) and started meditating twice a day, which had an immediate impact on her health, stress level, and emotions.      She later took a coaching program and discovered that her purpose involves helping others get clear on their purpose. Through her coaching, she noticed that most people don’t consciously reflect on the impact or contribution they want to make AND how to find the time and energy to focus on it. Leaders often get swept away by corporate objectives and agendas and they can lose sight of their own north star.     Using the analogy of strategic planning in her leadership coaching, Jackie helps leaders develop a PERSONAL strategic or whole life plan in order to help them step fully into their most authentic and impactful roles in their work and personal lives. Life vision - what you want your personal and professional life to be in 5 to 10 yearsKey values - that guide your decisions & align your prioritiesPurpose - the meaningful contribution you are here to makeGoals and purposeful habits (like Key success factors) - to help you step fully into your most authentic and impactful roles at work, at home, and in your communities.Resources or websites mentioned in this episode:MiraseeJackie’s Business and Beyond websiteJackie’s TwitterJackie’s LinkedInCredits:Guest - Jackie RobergeHosts - Danny Iny & Abe Crystal Producer - Cynthia Lamb Executive producer - Danny InyWriter - Michi Lantz and Cynthia Lamb Assembled by - Geoff GovertsenAudio Post Supervisor: Evan Miles, Christopher MartinAudio Post Production by Post Office SoundMusic soundscape: Chad Michael SnavelyIf you don't want to miss future episodes of Course  Lab, please subscribe to Apple podcasts, Spotify or wherever you're listening right now.
