DeSantis Defends Trump Probe, Cringeworthy Questioning of Kamala, Secret Service & Trump's Golf

Join Jim and Greg as they applaud Gov. Ron DeSantis for his deeper explanation for why Florida definitely needs to be conducting its own investigation into this past weekend's attempted assassination of Donald Trump. They also discuss the pathetic question aimed at Kamala Harris in a rare interview opportunity and the weak argument that Donald Trump's love of golf is making him more vulnerable to being attacked.First, they agree with Gov. DeSantis that state officials do need to be conducting their own investigation because there are some pertinent charges that federal prosecutors cannot pursue but state officials can. And while any prosecution ought to be based on the facts, limiting charges to just a couple of federal gun crimes hardly seems sufficient for a man caught trying to kill a former president who is currently a major party nominee for president.Next, they groan as one of the panelists interviewing Kamala Harris at a National Association of Black Journalists event asks her the brutally tough question, "Why is joy important to you to insert into this election?" Jim notes that opportunities to question Harris are few and far between so you shouldn't be wasting them on things like that when there are many critical issues worth addressing. Finally, they cast a skeptical eye on a Politico story suggesting that Donald Trump is putting himself in danger by continuing to play golf, supposedly because it puts a major strain on Secret Service personnel to secure the large amount of space involved. They don't doubt that it is challenging but many presidents have been avid players and Secret Service never seemed to complain about his before. Please visit our great sponsors:Oraclehttps://oracle.com/martiniTake a free test drive of OCI at oracle.com/martini today!Zbioticshttps://zbiotics.com/3MLUse code 3ML at checkout to save 15% off your first order.

Paging Hezbollah, Hillary Demands More Anti-Trump Media, Are Teamsters Two-Timing Trump?

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss many Hezbollah figures being injured by exploding pagers, Hillary Clinton demanding a more negative media "narrative" about Donald Trump, and the Teamsters Union on the brink of an endorsement.First, they marvel once again at the ingenuity of (probably) Israeli operatives getting explosives into pagers, the pagers into the hands of thousands of Hezbollah figures, and then detonating them simultaneously. It's the latest in a very creative summer for Israeli intelligence...or whoever carried out these attacks.Next, they groan as Hillary Clinton is back in public demanding the media carry out a more "consistent narrative" of how "dangerous" Donald Trump is and the threat he allegedly poses to the country and the world. She also continues to blame her 2016 loss to Trump on Russian disinformation. And in addition to confronting international political mischief, Hillary also called for civil and criminal prosecution for Americans found disseminating what she considers misinformation or disinformation. Finally, they shake their heads at the apparent likelihood that the Teamsters Union will offer an endorsement this week and that Kamala Harris seems more likely to get the nod based on what union boss Sean O'Brien is saying. If that happens, Jim says Republicans should learn a big lesson from handing over a critical hour on the first night of the convention to a guy who bashed right to work and business leaders. Please visit our great sponsors:Moink Boxhttps://moinkbox.com/martiniSign up today and get free hot rolls in your first box only at moinkbox.com/martini . Oraclehttps://oracle.com/martiniTake a free test drive of OCI at oracle.com/martini today!

Trump Targeted for Assassination...Again

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect an assassination attempt against Donald Trump for the second time this summer. Today, they walk through the disturbing details of what happened in Florida on Sunday, the callous reaction in the media and beyond, and some of the bright spots that we can also see.First, they walk through a lot of the facts in this case as laid out by law enforcement. There seems to have been a much more competent response than there was in Pennsylvania. But some frustrating questions still linger based on what what we know so far.Next, they highlight media figures like NBC's Lester Holt and MSNBC's Alex Witt appearing to blame Trump's rhetoric for the latest attempt against his life and suggesting it's Trump who needs to tone down his statements. Finally, they're thankful for a very observant U.S. Secret Service agent whose vigilance stopped the threat to Trump's life before it could materialize. They're also grateful to learn Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis plans to have state authorities investigate what happened. Please visit our great sponsors:Oraclehttps://oracle.com/martiniTake a free test drive of OCI at oracle.com/martini today!Zbioticshttps://zbiotics.com/3MLUse code 3ML at checkout to save 15% off your first order.

Single-Family Fiction, Trump Rejects Future Debate, 'Appalling' Secret Service Review

Join Jim and Greg as they close the week with an important correction from Thursday's edition,  strong thoughts on Trump's rejection of another debate and the questionable characters in his inner circle, and startling indications that the performance of the Secret Service on the day of the Trump assassination attempt was even worse than we thought.First, they apologize for basing their Thursday story about a Maryland county considering major zoning changes that allegedly threatened existing and future single-family homes on an erroneous story from a local ABC news station. They explain what the proposed changes would actually do and why that news source is unlikely to get the benefit of the doubt again.Next, they explain why they think Trump was wrong to reject another debate with Kamala Harris, pointing out that even with somewhat biased moderators, a debate is still the best chance to make gettable voters aware of Kamala's radical positions and failed tenure as vice president. They also chide Trump for allowing a figure like Laura Loomer into his inner circle - which is almost guaranteed to make things worse. Finally, they're stunned to see staunch lefty Connecticut Sen. Dick Blumenthal predict the American people will be "appalled" by the egregious failings of the U.S. Secret Service in connection to the attempted assassination of Trump on July 13. And Blumenthal also blasted the Department of Homeland Security for its lack of cooperation in the investigation. Please visit our great sponsors:Lumenhttps://lumen.me/3MLHead to lumen.me/3ML for 15% off your Lumen.

Kirby Disrespects Veterans, Blaming the GOP for California's Woes, No Single-Family Homes?

Join Jim and Greg for a quick and fun discussion of getting spam emails from the DNC. Then they tackle National Security Council spokesman John Kirby disrespecting veterans critical of Biden, an LA Times columnist blaming Republicans for California's litany of problems, and politicians in Maryland considering an end to single-family homes. After some quick jokes about the odd, unsolicited DNC emails that Greg keeps getting, they dig into Admiral Kirby hitting "reply all" on a request for a statement from veterans mad about Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and announcing their concerns weren't even worth a response. "Obviously no use in responding. A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe," is what Kirby said. Jim says Kirby needs to remember that he works for the people and not the Democratic Party.Next, they roll their eyes at an opinion column in the Los Angeles Times that admits California is a mess. And even though no Republican has held statewide office since early 2011, columnist Steve Lopez says it's still the GOP's fault because of things Republicans did more than 50 years ago and that the Democrats' many failures under one-party control in recent years are also the Republicans' fault. Really! Jim has little patience for this revisionism and says Democrats have been able to do whatever they want in California. And what they want leads to disaster. Finally, they turn their attention to the DC suburbs in Maryland. For years, people on the right have been branded as conspiracy theorists for saying the left wants to put an end to single-family homes and crowd more people into those spaces in order to collect more in property taxes. In Montgomery County, Maryland, the county council is now...surprise...considering legislation to put an end to single-family homes - under the false pretense of creating more affordable housing. Please visit our great sponsors:Lumenhttps://lumen.me/3MLHead to lumen.me/3ML for 15% off your Lumen.

The Debate: Kamala's Lying & Baiting, Trump's Distracted Rambling, Moderators' Bias

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect Tuesday night's presidential debate and how everyone on that stage was underwhelming in their performances - from Kamala Harris dodging or lying on the hard questions to Donald Trump missing opportunities and getting easily distracted to the moderators playing favorites. They also update yesterday's Taylor Swift story and reflect on 23 years since the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks.First, they break down Kamala's performance, particularly how she refused to answer challenging questions about the Biden-Harris record on the economy, the border, and her many sudden policy changes. They also note specific areas where she tried to sneak to the right of Trump and her clear strategy of baiting Trump away from discussing the issues most damaging to her.Next, they explain how Trump kept falling for the rabbit trails offered by Harris, his failure to highlight some of the most devastating aspects of the Biden-Harris record, misstating other attempts to land punches, and how he looked generally unprepared for the event. They also highlight a few of his zingers against Harris and Biden, but even those turned out to be missed opportunities. Then, they evaluate ABC News moderators David Muir and Lindsey Davis for their one-sided, questionable fact-checking and for offering some real softball questions to Harris. Finally, Jim and Greg share their thoughts as the nation solemnly marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 Al Qaeda terrorist attacks against New York City, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 in Pennsylvania. Please visit our great sponsors:Lumenhttps://lumen.me/3MLHead to lumen.me/3ML for 15% off your Lumen.

A Winsome Campaign Kickoff, Previewing the Trump-Harris Debate, Lefties Mad at Taylor Swift

Join Jim and Greg as they get you ready for tonight's presidential debate, discuss how the 2025 Virginia governor's race is already shaping up, and sigh as activists on the left are getting frustrated that pop star Taylor Swift has not yet endorsed Kamala Harris.First, they highlight Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears officially kicking off her run for governor next year. It's a tough state, sorry, commonwealth, for the GOP to win in and a rough primary could make it even tougher. Jim urges Virginia Republicans to avoid an intraparty bloodbath if at all possible. Sears is very clearly running as a continuation of the "common sense conservatism" of popular GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who is term limited.Next, they dig into what to expect in tonight's first (and possibly only) presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. They consider how Harris will deal with questions about her supposedly changing positions on a wide variety of issues - changes that tack away from her far left views from the 2020 campaign. They also consider which tactics might be employed by both candidates to throw the other one off message and what to expect from the ABC News moderators this evening. Then, they try to shake it off over lefties developing bad blood with Taylor Swift over her failure to publicly endorse Kamala Harris thus far in the campaign. Will Swift fall in line by the end of this cruel summer or will she be an anti-hero for the Democrats all the way to Election Day? Either way, Jim says this is taking the connection between celebrities and politics to a new, unhealthy level, where failure to get politically involved is now demonized. Finally, they offer a short tribute to acting legend James Earl Jones, who died on Monday. Please visit our great sponsors:Lumenhttps://lumen.me/3MLHead to lumen.me/3ML for 15% off your Lumen.

Three Martinis with Robert Davi: His Role in 'Reagan,' Conservatives in Hollywood, 'Die Hard'

Jim and Greg welcome acclaimed actor, director, and singer Robert Davi to sip three martinis. Today, they discuss Davi's role in the new biopic of Ronald Reagan, what it's like for him as a conservative in Hollywood, and his unforgettable performance as Special Agent Johnson in "Die Hard."First, they discuss how Davi got involved in the Reagan movie project nine years ago and how he deeply researched his role as former Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev. Davi also explains why he wanted to be part of the film, how the media mocked and attacked Reagan much more at the time than they will admit now, and more.Next, Davi shares what it's like to be a conservative in Hollywood and how becoming more publicly supportive of conservatives and Republicans curiously coincided with a sudden decrease in opportunities to act and direct. He also takes us inside his recent film, "My Son Hunter" about Hunter Biden, the approach he took to directing it, and why many people discovered the film was far different than they expected it to be.Then, of course, they spotlight Davi's very memorable role in "Die Hard" and why the film endures more than most action movies. And you will not want to miss Davi's hilarious story about watching the "Die Hard" for the first time alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger - complete with his perfect impression of Arnold. Finally, Jim and Davi discuss their expectations for tomorrow night's presidential debate. Please visit our great sponsors:Lumenhttps://lumen.me/3MLHead to lumen.me/3ML for 15% off your Lumen.

Hunter Biden Pleads Guilty, Charging School Shooters' Parents, GOP Senate Outlook

Join Jim and Greg for three complicated martinis to close out the week. They discuss Hunter Biden deciding to plead guilty to federal tax charges, whether parents of school shooters ought to face criminal charges, and the forecast for this years U.S. Senate elections. First, they focus on Hunter Biden abandoning his plan to go to trial and a subsequent plan to plead guilty without admitting guilt on federal tax charges. Now that he's simply pleading guilty, what does that mean for sentencing, the chances his father pardons him and more? Jim says it's all further proof of one thing - that the critics of Hunter Biden were right and Joe Biden and a lot of other Democrats and media apologists were wrong or flat out lying. Second, they examine this week's horrific, deadly school shooting at a Georgia high school and mull over whether officials are right to charge the shooter's father with two counts of second degree murder and four counts of involuntary manslaughter for failing to keep guns away from his 14-year-old son who had already been evaluated as a possible threat. Are charges like this a good way to keep parents more vigilant and accountable for their kids' actions and for their own actions or does criminal blame belong solely with the killer? Finally, they examine the U.S. Senate map this year. And while odds look favorable for Republicans to reclaim a slim majority, there are several other seats held by Democrats which should be vulnerable. But so far the GOP challengers are consistently trailing. Please visit our great sponsors:Zbioticshttps://zbiotics.com/3MLUse code 3ML at checkout to save 15% off your first order.

The Debate is On, Russia & the Influencers, Kamala's Continuous 'No Comment'

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss Kamala Harris finally agreeing to debate Donald Trump next week, the DOJ's indictment of Russians accused of paying online influencers in the U.S., and how Harris is refusing to take positions on key issues. First, they're glad that next week's debate will go forward as scheduled after a lot of efforts to rework the agreement - from Trump demanding more debates to Harris insisting on unmuted microphones (which she failed to get). They explain the vapid reason Kamala wanted unmuted mics and whether this will be the final time she will take serious questions before Election Day.Next, they react to the Justice Department's indictment of two Russians accused of money laundering and failing to register as foreign agents. The indictment also refers to a lot of money being spent on a media company featuring six prominent online influencers here in the U.S. The indictment says those commentators had no knowledge of the arrangement and are not being charged. Defenders of the commentators allege this is simply a return to the government's Russian collusion narrative from eight years ago. Finally, they hammer Kamala Harris and her campaign for constantly dodging straightforward questions about her ever-evolving positions on many issues. The latest? Their refusal to say whether Harris would sign a legislative electric vehicle mandate that she sponsored while in the U.S. Senate. Please visit our great sponsors:Zbioticshttps://zbiotics.com/3MLUse code 3ML at checkout to save 15% off your first order.
