Rodger Shute (author)

Episode 115- author Rodger Shute!  In this episode, I sit down with my dad, author Rodger Shute to discuss his new book “Ultimate Reality.” In the book he explores the questions of consciousness, where we come from, why are we here and where are we going after death.  He has put a lot of research in to this book (496 sources!) and it shows when discussing it with him how knowledgeable he is on the topics. We’ll discuss a little of his background and how he got interested in the topic and then we dive in to the book chapter by chapter. I even ask some questions at the end about things NOT in the book. Little Mikey (Stern Show song parodist)

Episode 114- Little Mikey from the Howard Stern Show! I have always thought Little Mikey and his song parodies were one of the funniest parts of the Stern show. I laugh so hard every time I hear them because they are so ridiculous. I was shocked to hear he was a fan of my podcast and I had to have him on my show for my birthday to make him do a song for me. I’m glad I got a chance to interview him, I learned a lot and you will too! 00:00 - Intro01:26 - Mutual Fans 02:47 - Jody Porter & Fountains of Wayne 04:55 - Radio Background06:25 - Stern Song Contest 08:27 - Robin Parody Songs 09:08 - Psych & Arrogance 10:17 - Nickname Little Mikey10:58 - Robin's Reaction 11:44 - Sending In Songs 12:54 - First Time In Studio 16:35 - Howard Stern Birthday Bash 19:18 - In Studio & Contributing Stern20:22 - High Pitch Erik's Death Threat 21:07 - Benji as a Person & Writer 22:45 - Dirty Robin Parody Songs 25:38 - Rules with Releasing Songs 26:50 - Extra on Eastbound & Down 28:46 - Vanilla Ice & David Spade 31:25 - Losing Weight & Diabetes34:45 - School & New Career Path 37:05 - Birthday Song!!!38:42 - Little Mikey is Hilarious 39:53 - Northshore Animal League 40:46 - Wrap Up Little Mikey Twitter:https://twitter.com/LittleMikeyspNorthshore Animal League Website:https://www.animalleague.orgChuck Shute Website:http://chuckshute.comSupport the showThanks for Listening & Shute for the Moon!

Steve "Lips" Kudlow (Anvil singer/guitarist)

Episode 109 - Steve “Lips” Kudlow, singer and guitarist for the band Anvil! Many people know the band from the award winning 2008 documentary, “Anvil: The Story of Anvil.” The band was incredibly influential early in the heavy metal game. With Motorhead, Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer and many more all citing them as an influence. Due to bad management and promotion the band didn’t break through to the next level. However after the success of the movie they finally broke through and continue to make albums and tour to this day. Lips is a great story teller and hilarious in this interview. 0:00:00 - Intro0:02:05 - Canada & U.S. Differences 0:05:25 - Drummer Robb Reiner 0:06:25 - Johnny Z Setting Up Shows0:10:45 - Aerosmith, David Krebs, & Musical Style0:17:10 - Having No Record Label for Four Years 0:17:52 - Lemmy Offering Lips to Join Motorhead 0:19:30 - Making Music for a Lifetime 0:20:45 - Side Work So Lips Could Play Music 0:22:20 - Luck & Success & Perseverance0:24:48 - Bad Gigs & Promotion0:30:12 - Band Fights0:36:30 - Big Shows  vs Club Shows 0:39:10 - Jealousy From Other Musicians 0:42:05 - "Legal at Last" & Marijuana & Hemp Usage0:47:05 - "Nabbed in Nebraska" Song Story 0:51:15 - Agreeing with Ted Nugent's Politics & Guns 0:59:35 - Live Shows and Next Album for 20221:03:25 - Fear & Misinformation with Coronavirus 1:04:58 - Children's Charity 1:06:05 - Wrap Up Anvil Website:http://anvilrocks.comSt Jude's Children's Hospital Website:https://www.stjude.orgChuck Shute Website:http://www.chuckshute.comSupport the showThanks for Listening & Shute for the Moon!
