Taking State Ownership and Management of Public Lands with Nick Fasciano

Nick Fasciano is the executive director of the Idaho Wildlife Federation, Idaho’s oldest and largest statewide conservation organization promoting the conservation of Idaho’s wildlife heritage and legacy of sporting opportunities. There has been much discussion about the mismanagement of Idaho's public lands by the BLM, and some, including the Idaho GOP, feel we should limit and reduce the amount of land owned or administered by the federal government. Nick was able to shed light on the major problems with taking over management and ownership of our incredible public lands. If we want to preserve this incredible resource for future generations, these are key considerations. Dexton Lake is the son of a rancher and works for the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation. One of his areas of focus is wildlife management and support for farmers and ranchers that experience depredation (wildlife causing harm to domesticated crops or animals), which is a huge issue in the state of Idaho with no easy solution. The Latino Exit from Democratic Party with Eli "The Coffee Guy"

Eli “The Coffee Guy” is a recent Idaho addition, working in corrections and having moved from Southern California. As a hispanic young man, he was told a lot about what the world was and why he had less than other people. As a man, he finds the narrative he experienced to be incredibly inappropriate and limiting. He is also part of a broader movement of Latino and Hispanic communities moving away from the Democratic Party because, among other things, he feels the party no longer represents their values or a path to prosperity. His views were incredibly enlightening. Preserving Idaho's Farmlands with David Anderson

David Anderson works for American Farmland Trust and actively helps landowners voluntarily enter into agreements that prohibit development of their land in perpetuity. Development rights are naturally a valuable thing, so why a landowner would voluntarily relinquish his or her rights to develop or sell developable land has been a mystery to me. David did an amazing job of explaining not just why people would want to do this, but the huge problem we’ll be in if our Ag land continues to disappear from a municipal taxation standpoint.
