The Definitive Prop 1 Debate with Rod Beck and Hyrum Erickson
Rod Beck is one of three Ada County Commissioners and Hyrum Erickson is a republican Precinct Committeeman from Rexburg. Both agreed to come engage in a long format debate regarding Prop 1. Rod Beck was a main driving force that led to closed primaries in Idaho in 2011, and Hyrum Erickson is a republican that enjoys the republican majority in our state legislature but feels the structure of our elections is leading to a non representative legislative body. This is the only long format debate I am aware of on Prop 1. Enjoy! The previous interviews for or against prop one can be found here...Against...Open Primaries with Idaho Fair Elections PAC Jake Ballhttps://youtu.be/CyEmvOsM9EUDefending Closed Primaries in Idaho with Rod Beckhttps://youtu.be/cAGPa3224xMInherent Risk of Prop 1 and RCV with Tom Lunahttps://youtu.be/fZx-fBdTogwFor...Supporting Prop 1 - Open Primaries and Rank Choice Voting with Hyrum Ericksonhttps://youtu.be/8U6i9C2gb5AReturning Power to the People with Greg Caseyhttps://youtu.be/qKzyc3n6p8kAn Election System for All Tax Payers with Jim Joneshttps://youtu.be/kIP4Kk5PJ3wThe Ranch Podcast is the premier source for long format interviews and information in the Treasure Valley and great state of Idaho. Idaho Sees Dead People... and illegal aliens... with Phil McGrane
Phil McGrane is the Secretary of State for the State Of Idaho. In this conversation, we talked expressly about the things people are most concerned about with our elections, namely that dead people and illegal aliens are voting. We also spoke about how difficult and improbable it would be to add a mass number of voters to a voter roll. Idaho is clearly leading the way in many things, and election security is one of them. Bringing Our National Guard HOME with Dan McKnight
Dan McKnight has served in the United States Marines, Army, and National Guard. He is part of an organization called Defend The Guard, which focuses on state legislation that prevents the US Congress from deploying our National Guard servicemen and women in the absence of a declaration of war. An Election System for All Tax Payers with Jim Jones
Jim Jones is the former Attorney General of Idaho as well as former Chief Justice on the Idaho Supreme Court. He is a strong supporter of prop 1 and feels that it is a solution to what he describes as chaos and dysfunction in the state legislature. Living the Politics with Dr. Jaci Kettler
Dr. Jaci Kettler is a political science professor at BSU and teaches, among other things, state politics. She also happened to be a high risk pregnancy at the time that Idaho's abortion laws changed. This lead to a whole slew of complications from a care standpoint, and as a soon to be mother trying to get to term, she lived the politics and their consequences in Idaho. She very thankfully was able to get appropriate care and is now a happy mother.
