Kadere has made it back to Cairhien traveling with the People of the Dragon. He's received a note from another darkfriend, simply letting him know that he's not alone. He's musing over the note which appears to have been written by an Aiel woman for various reasons, when Isendre enters his wagon. After speaking with her for a short time, Kadere realizes that the Maidens of the Spear have broken her completely. With no more ways to make use of her, and the possibility that she could betray him the the Maidens, he feels there is only one thing left to do. Kadere sets about strangling the young woman to death, and dismembering her corpse, all while remembering doing the same to his sister in Saldea long ago. Bryne arrives at Salidar, still in pursuit of his quarry. The Salidar six are amused by the his appearance once they understand why he's appeared. Suian must now begin paying her debt to Bryne while wrangling the Six to where she wants them to be. Bryne won't be allowed to leave alive, so now he too has a debt to pay, but to the six Aes Sedai that represent the rebel tower. Suian has the ear of the Salidar Six, at least for now and she intends to use what time with she has effectively. We spend some time with our friend Morgan breaking down the motivations and allegiances of the powerful women in the room. Some are Black Ajah, some are moles for Elaida, and none have uncomplicated intentions. Suian knows this group is directionless, and will require a leader in order to get anything done. She knows they won't take her back, so who to prop up in her place? One of her hunting hounds likely, who will follow her direction without looking to threatening to the Six. Logain still has his aura of future glory as he, Suian, Min, and Leane approach the outskirts of Salidar, where they find the Aes Sedai in Exile from Elaida's Tower. At first The three women and false Dragon are cloistered in one of the larger buildings where Sheriam closelyquestions Min, being the only of the three women there she recognizes. Eventually Min directs the questions of the Salidar six toward the changed Suian and Leane. After an odd sort of interrogation, their identities are confirmed. Happy birthday to Robert Jordan! (on the day we recorded this one). We establish that Mat's memories range between 500 years after the Breaking and about 2,000 years A.B. So, nothing in the last thousand years. That may have to do with the availability of the Red Stone Doorway Ter'angreal. One of Rand's wards around the camp is triggered, Mat realizes that the camp is being attacked from the south, AND north. We'll learn later that the purpose of the Trolloc and Myrdraal attack is to distract from the Draghkar assassins which drop from the sky in an attempt on Rand's life.
