Hey there, it's Ashli Pollard, back as your host of Below 14th Street. In this episode, I'm sharing a story that everyone is talking about on my TikTok. I responded to a comment about my marketing expertise, and then people start asking me to tell the story about the Nicki Minaj dress. Now, I want to tread lightly because I don't remember what I signed 15 years ago. But I'll share what I can from my time at Oscar de la Renta in 2011. I worked as an intern, but it was an incredibly positive experience and a lot of fun despite all the pressure. I learned so much during my time there, including the importance of keeping my mouth shut if I didn't know a lot about a space. In this episode, I delve into my personal experience of branching out of the online space and into the offline space. Initially, I was initially hesitant to make this transition but I quickly realized that working with clients outside of the digital industry was an incredibly valuable experience that made me a better entrepreneur. It created bigger and more expansive opportunities, and made me become a better business owner because I learned that there are many more opportunities to grow and diversify my client base. Relying solely on the online space could put my business at risk and I also didn't want to play into the "scammy" aspects of the online space.
