Mom Finds Little Teen Girl in Bathtub Stabbed Dead, Still in PJs

As Jacqueline Medina leaves for work, she wakes her daughter, who has plans for the day.  Jacqueline's cheerleading squad is meeting at Edna High School for practice, ahead of the Christmas parade planned for the afternoon. Jacqueline Medina arrives at the parade, excited to see her daughter perform, but Lizbeth is not with the rest of the cheerleaders in the parade. Friends confirmed they hadn't seen Lizbeth in the parade either. In fact, no one had heard from Lizbeth  Worried, Jacqueline starts calling her daughter’s cell phone. The calls go straight to voicemail.  Jacqueline Medina heads home, to the apartment the two of them share.  When Medina gets home, the door is unlocked. Inside, nothing seems out of place. When Jacqueline goes into the bathroom, she pulls back the shower curtain, finding Lizbeth Medina, unconscious. The search for a suspect begins. The day after Lizbeth Medina’s murder, Edna police released surveillance photos of a person and a vehicle of interest. The bearded male in the photo is wearing a black Volcom hooded sweatshirt and he is seen driving a silver Ford Taurus. Two days after the murder of Lizbeth Medina, Edna Police announced an arrest.  The suspect is a 23-year-old "undocumented" migrant, thought to have been living in the USA for the last 5 years. His name is Rafael Govea Romero. He was captured about 75 miles north of Edna in Schulenburg, Texas, where he reportedly has family.   Romero is jailed on suspicion of capital murder. KPRC reports his bond is set at $2 million. Edna Police Chief Rick Boone says items missing from Lizbeth Medina's apartment were found in Romero's possession.  Police say Romero confessed to the murder.     Joining Nancy Grace Today: Nicole Deborde Hochglaube – Criminal Defense Lawyer, Houston; Former Prosecutor; Twitter: @debordelaw Caryn L. Girl Begs Mom to Come Home, Two Weeks Later Missing: Where is Andi Wagner?

Elane Garcia, unhappy in Evansville, Indiana, moves to Texas. She tries to convince her oldest daughter, Andi Wagner, to move with her, but she decides to stay in Evansville.  The plan is for her to live with her grandparents, making it possible for Wagner to be near her father and younger sister. After the move to Texas,  Garcia and Andi keep in touch, often using Facetime, but Garcia says she starts seeing a change in her daughter. She seems tired all the time.    Garcia pushes for her daughter to move to Texas to live with her. Wagner finally agrees. Garcia is excited and apparently so is Wagner, who tells her friends and family about her relocation plan.     Two weeks before her mother is to arrive in Indiana to take her back to Texas, Andi Wagner goes to her grandparents’ house and packs a bag. Her younger sister, Alix Wagner, talks to her, but Andi Wagner doesn't volunteer much information about what she is doing, where she is going, or who she is with. Andi Wagner is only at the house for about 10 minutes, then leaves with a packed bag.  When Elane Garcia tries for several days to reach Andi by phone and fails, they reach out to the Evansville Police Department and file a "missing person" report on August 12.   Wagner is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 115 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  Andi has a mole near her upper lip and several tattoos. She has her mother’s name on her forearm, a small rocket on her left ankle, and one with Roman numerals.   She was last seen wearing an orange tank top and jeans.   Joining Nancy Grace today: Elane Garcia - Andi Wagner’s Mother; Facebook: AnswersForAndi and Be Andi's Voice, www.gofundme.com/f/find-bring-andi-wagner-home    Alan Bennett – Former Assistant District Attorney; Partner at Gunter, Bennett, and Anthes Dr. John Delatorre –  Licensed Psychologist and Mediator (specializing in forensic psychology); Psychological Consultant to Project Absentis: a nonprofit organization that searches for missing persons; Twitter, IG, and TikTok – @drjohndelatorre Brian Fitzgibbons – VP of Operations for USPA Nationwide Security; Instagram: @uspa_nationwide_security, Kingsman Philanthropic’s 2022 rescue missions of women and children in Ukraine, Iraq War Veteran Ronnie - Founder of Brother’s Underwater Recovery, a Search and Rescue Dive Team (also searches on land), Helping in search for Andi;  YouTube & FB: Brother’s Underwater Recovery, TikTok: brothersunderwater   Steve Mehling -  Reporter at 14 News in Evansville, Indiana. Timid Honor Student Son Stabs Mom Dead, Dad Blows Kisses in Court

The 13-year-old Derek Rosa is caught on the family's nanny cam, standing over his sleeping mother moments before the honor student stabs her to death. His newborn sister is sleeping in a crib steps away.  Derek Rosa is not your typical 13-year-old boy: He is on the honor roll with neighbors saying he is exceedingly nice and the model son. Irena Garcia, 39, just gave birth to a baby girl. So it was shocking when the teen called 911, telling the dispatcher that he snuck into the room where his mom and the baby were sleeping and stabbed his mother dead.  As the operator talks to Rosa, he tells her he took pictures of the murder and sent them to a "friend." He also says he then deleted the photos. When pressed for the friend's name, Rosa says it is just somebody he knows online. During his call with 911, Rosa said he had a gun he planned to use to kill himself but decided not to.   Derek Rosa was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention center. He was then moved to Jackson Memorial Hospital after he threatened to harm himself. Rosa was initially charged with second-degree murder, but a Miami-Dade grand jury found enough probable cause to indict the teen as an adult and up the charge to first-degree murder. Rosa's defense attorney has put motions in front of the judge to move this case back to juvenile court.  Joining Nancy Grace today: Jason Oshins - Criminal & Civil Attorney  Dr. James Garbarino – Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Cornell University and Loyola University Chicago (specialized in studying what causes violence in children); Author of, “Listening to Killers: Lessons Learned from My 20 Years as a Psychological Expert Witness in Murder Cases” Master Sergeant Ron Livingston - Sergeant at Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (30+ years in law enforcement) Dr. Tim Gallagher - Medical Examiner State of Florida; Lecturer: University of Florida Medical School Forensic Medicine; Founder/Host: International Forensic Medicine Death Investigation Conference Caitlyn Becker - Senior Reporter for Dailymail.com; Twitter: @caitlynbecker   See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Wealthy Lady Rancher DISAPPEARS from Cali Ranch: WHERE'S DIA?

Lydia "Dia" Abrams marries a wealthy La Jolla, California, real estate developer, Clem Abrams. They have two children. After more than 30 years of marriage, Clem Abrams passes away after a long illness and Dia steps up to run the 116-acre family ranch.  After years as a widow,  Abrams meets Keith Harper on a dating website. According to the Mercury News, Harper is a retired parole agent for the Utah Department of Corrections.  The two hit it off and six months later, Harper moves in with Dia at the ranch and becomes the ranch manager.   According to Harper, he works to upgrade the Abrams’ property:  building dams, bridges, and fences, and helping care for Abrams' animals. Harper also claims to be Abrams’ fiance. Keith Harper is also named as trustee of Abrams' estate, and her beneficiary in the event of her death. On June 6, 2020, Dia Abrams is seen at her ranch in Mountain Center, California. Then she is captured on doorbell-cam footage delivering cinnamon rolls to a neighbor undergoing cancer treatment. According to Keith Harper, he and Dia have lunch around 2:30 p.m. before he leaves to work around the property.  Abrams reportedly goes to tend to her horses at another property she owns in Garner Valley. Harper says he mows for five hours before returning to the house around 7:30 p.m.   Abrams’ Ford F-350 pickup is parked outside, but Harper cannot find her.  Harper says he calls her phone and hears it ringing upstairs. It is plugged into a charger next to a nightstand. Abrams’ purse and keys are also there. A search begins.  Dozens of locals scoured the ranch and surrounding mountain area on foot, horseback, and all-terrain vehicles. Harper is seen riding an ATV around the property. When Riverside County sheriff deputies begin a days-long search, Harper packs up his RV and takes off for Arizona. He says he needs to take care of a tax issue at a property he owns there.  Where is Dia?  Joining Nancy Grace Today: Brenda Geiger, J.D. -  Managing Attorney of Geiger Law Office, P.C. Hollywood Brat WHINES ABOUT HIS FILET MIGNON: Dismembered Wife & In-Laws

Sam Haskell is sitting in jail with no bail, accused of murdering and dismembering his wife and her parents. Police found biological evidence at the Haskell home where the wife and in-laws lived.  A law enforcement source says the biological evidence is from three different people. Police have yet to say what the nature of the biological evidence is but they have said they found blood at the house.  Former friends of Haskell are speaking out. His former trainer has shared texts from Haskell in which he says can't handle seeing chopped-up bodies in horror movies. He says the violence is too "hard" for him to enjoy.    Other friends have described Sam Haskell Jr as being "paranoid" before his arrest and the New York Post reports Haskell once pulled a machete on a childhood friend. Friends of Haskell's wife, Mei describe Haskell as being "weird" and having the "same creepy vibe" as Jeffrey Dahmer.
