Six years before he became known as the Day Trader who went on a murderous rampage, Mark Barton was the suspect in the death of his first wife and her mother while they were camping at a lake in North Alabama. Today, Joseph Scott Morgan shares  personal memories of working the homicides in Atlanta, as well as breaking down the murders of Mark Barton’s first wife and her mother in the camper, and his second wife and children in their apartment.. Keith Papini was shocked to find out his wife's kidnapping was actually a hoax.   The 39-year-old mom Sherri Papini was reported missing and told investigators when she was found 22 days later that a pair of Hispanic women kidnapped her at gunpoint.  Papini said her kidnappers abused her and then shoved her out of a car. Papini was emaciated, her hair was cut shorter, and she had cuts and bruises all over her body, but prosecutors said she caused the injuries herself. The case was broken in 2020 when DNA led investigators to Papini’s ex, who told them she had been with him the entire time.  Federal prosecutors charged Papini with 34 counts of mail fraud and one count of making false statements. Papini accepted a plea deal but didn't explain why she created an elaborate kidnapping hoax, although she apologized for her actions. Since her arrest, Papini's husband has started divorce proceedings,  and Sherri Papini soon begins her jail sentence.  Now, Sherri Papini, who is in a custody battle with ex-husband, is demanding he pay her $30,000 legal fees. Papini is now living with her new boyfriend in a $755,000 home, and   driving a brand-new Jeep SUV. Papini also want more access to her children.  Papini  says she only makes $1,000 a month and has to pay half of that in rent.   The convicted hoaxer is also demanding Keith Papini, hand of other items from their marital home including ‘Grandpa’s truck, an inflatable water slide, a leaf blower and a smart TV.' Jack O'Kelley is a stand-out athlete throughout his youth and into high school, where he letters all four years in Lacrosse and football.  He's also a member of the National English Honor Society. Thanksgiving morning, Jack's family gets ready to celebrate the holiday, his dad calls Jack to come home. No answer. He calls the family friends where Jack spent the night. The parents invite Jack's father to come over, the boys are still asleep.   So he drives over and a few minutes later, the dad calls his wife in a panic.   Jack is dead. An autopsy finds that Jack had overdosed.  Mother Angela King thinks her son, Jack O'Kelley, swallowed what he believed was a Xanax pill, not knowing it is counterfeit and contained a deadly amount of Fentanyl. This is just one of multiple tragic stories involving fentanyl. Hillary Ellington, a mother of three, is swept off her feet by Dr. Ben Brown, a renown plastic surgeon.  After just one year dating, the couple marries in June 2022. Their relationship’s described as very “touchy-feely,” but volatile. Ellington has several plastic surgeries performed by her husband.  She is set to go under her husband’s knife again for several procedures at the same time. Dr. Ben Brown prepares for an abdominal scar revision, bilateral arm liposuction, an ear adjustment, and lip injections in his office, while Ellington prepares her own anesthetic. Without supervision, Ellington mixes lidocaine into two IV bags, and takes a ‘handful’ of pills including Valium, Tramadol ], Cefadroxil, Zofran, and Versed. Before starting the procedures, Brown asks a nurse to give Ellington another dose of Versed, and asks a second nurse to prepare a bowl of undiluted Xylocaine.  Brown injects both of Ellington’s self-made IV bags and the Xylocaine into his wife, then gets to work on the abdominal scar revision. Nurses notice Ellington’s feet twitching. Brown continues on to the liposuction in Ellington’s arms, then injects more Xylocaine into Ellington’s face for the upcoming ear adjustment and lip fillers. Ellington tells her husband that her vision is blurring, and she ‘sees orange.’ Brown administers more Xylocaine in Ellington’s face, when his wife suddenly starts seizing, and goes into cardiac arrest. Medical assistants ask Brown if they should call 911, and Brown tells them ‘no,’ hopeful to stabilize Ellington on his own. However, there is no oxygen or a defibrillator on hand in the office. Nurses repeatedly ask to call 911, and after 20 minutes of telling staff to wait, Brown finally agrees. First responders take over CPR and intubate Ellington before she is rushed to Ascension Sacred Heart’s Emergency room in cardiac arrest with suspected lidocaine toxicity. Ellington is stabilized with life support.  A week after her admittance, Ellington is removed from life support and her organs are donated. After Hillary Ellington’s death, several former patients come forward with “horror stories” about their experiences with Dr. Ben Brown. Many report their abdominal wounds opening after stitches were removed, leaving them with gaping holes tunneling down to the muscle wall. Several patients who received breast implants from Brown were left with huge scars, nerve damage, infections, and many ultimately had the implants removed entirely by new surgeons. Former employees also claim the office used unsanitary cleaning procedures, and unlicensed individuals would often prepare anesthetics. After a nearly six-month investigation into ‘Restore’ after Hillary Ellington’s death, the Florida Department of Health issues an emergency order restricting Dr. Ben Brown’s medical license. Brown is restricted to only performing surgery under the supervision of a licensed surgeon at a licensed hospital. A month after the Department of Health’s emergency order, Brown is also criminally charged with second-degree murder by negligence for causing his wife’s death by over medicating her. Brown turns himself in, posts a $50,000 bond, and is released. Miya Rudd is born in October 2023 to parents Tesla Tucker, 29, and Cage Rudd, 30. Routine tests show that Miya’s umbilical cord has traces of methamphetamine in it--grounds for removal from her parents’ care. By the time Kentucky’s Social Services  made arrangements for Miya to be placed with her 3 older siblings, Tucker and Rudd left the hospital with the baby. For the next six months, the family bounces from home to home, avoiding contact from social services. In late May, a family member realizes they have not seen baby Miya Rudd in nearly a month. The family member contacts law enforcement, reporting they last saw Miya in April. Social services cannot locate the family, so Kentucky State Police Troopers are sent to perform a welfare check. On June 6, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd are tracked down to an Owensboro Super 8 motel. Inside Tucker and Rudd’s hotel room, Kentucky State police find large amounts of crystal meth, and what is believed to be fentanyl, but no sign of baby Miya Rudd. Placed under arrest for drug violations, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd insist that social services removed Miya from their care on May 1st, but social services has no record of a pickup. The parents suggest Miya may be with her maternal grandparents, who also has custody of her three older siblings, but do not cooperate further with the investigation. Kentucky State Police head to parents’ Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd’s last known address in nearby Reynold’s Station, hopeful they will locate Miya Rudd there. Conditions inside the home are deplorable. The home is filthy, and troopers uncover more meth and fentanyl. Cage Rudd’s father, Ricky Smith, is believed to be operating a drug trafficking scheme out of the home, and is arrested on several drug and weapons charges. There is zero indication that Miya Rudd is living in the Deanfield Church Road home. With all of Miya Rudd’s direct family members ruled out as having the infant in their care, police turn to a physical search near her parents’ home. While a team cleans the home’s interior of drug residue to protect searchers, cadaver dogs comb through the surrounding woods and several debris-filled ditches. The dogs’ behavior leads investigators to believe they have reason to continue searching nearby.   When Rudd’s home is finally safe for investigators and K9s to enter, Kentucky State Police thoroughly search the building, picking through trash and debris. Under a pile of trash, cops make a grim discovery. An infants’ decomposing body is found wrapped in plastic bags and a blanket. The remains are confirmed to be those of Miya Rudd.
