20220615 Nicole Sandler Show - Mid Week Roundup with The Nation's John Nichols
Today's scheduled third day of hearings from the House Select Committee investigating the Jan 6 attack on the Capitol was postponed, giving us a bit of a breather. But not really, when you consider all that's happened today. The Supreme Court handed down decisions in six more of their still undecided cases for this term, though none of them were the blockbuster cases some had expected. That leaves 18 more decisions to come in the next few weeks. The Fed made good on the expected interest rate hike of 3/4 of a percentage point, the largest such hike since 1994! Joe Biden is going to Saudi Arabia to meet with the murderous Mohammed bin Salman. And Republicans keep lying about all of that and more. Today, I'm honored that The Nation's National Correspondent John Nichols returns to the show for a discussion about where we stand...

20220613 Nicole Sandler Show - Jan 6 Hearing Day 2- Grifters Gonna Grift, Don's Gonna Con
In the second day of the televised public hearings convened by the House Select Committee investigating the events surrounding the January 6 attack on the Capitol, the evidence presented showed that Donald Trump was told by virtually everyone around him that he had lost the election, and that there was no way to find enough votes to change the results. Yet, he kept pushing information he knew to be blatantly untrue, and continued raising obscene amounts of money from his supporters to fight the falsely proclaimed 'stolen' election. It's mind boggling!

20220610 Nicole Sandler Show - Hearing #1 Recapped, You Weigh in Too
Bravo. Congratulations to the House Select Committee for presenting the opening arguments in their first in a series of public hearings last night, in which they told us what they'd show us over the course of the next couple of weeks. I'm stocking up on popcorn. Last night was the Thompson-Cheney show, and Cheney was the star. Just goes to show you, justice has strange bedfellows. Liz Cheney could never be confused for anything but a right wing ultra conservative. She is, after all, her father's daughter. But she also proved herself to be a formidable prosecutor (her law degree served her well), and an unlikely hero of the left ON THIS ISSUE ALONE. Bennie Thompson did a good job chairing the proceedings, and began the session with a brief but important history lesson.
