The Nicole Sandler Show

Today's live show was all fubar on YouTube, so I deleted it and uploaded the video from the interview... Enjoy! We last spoke one year ago today, and I'm thrilled they've returned for another visit in what is now a holiday tradition on the Nicole Sandler Show. The Marsh Family is Ben and Danielle and their four kids, Alfie Thomas, Ella and Tess, and they're the 21st century's answer to the Von Trapp Family Singers, without the drama. I can't think of a family I'd rather celebrate with this time of year (with the exception of my own). I'll share a small sample of their brilliant talents today, but encourage you to go to their YouTube channel and spend a while with this lovely family. By the way, they work miracles in bringing smiles to the faces of whomever is watching their work. An extra added bonus: this year, the Marsh Family's songs helped educate me regarding England's political and labor issues... it's nice to see it's not only the US suffering through all of this nonsense!

We're in the final throes of 2022 with all of us hoping that 2023 is better. Many of my colleagues are taking off this week and next, but I'm here this week, covering what remains of the 2022 news cycle, while injecting some irreverence and fun, when ever/wherever possible. Today, we have some year end housekeeping work... discuss the final public meeting of the House Select committee, the omnibus funding bill that was just made public overnight, the incoming Rethuglican House majority and more. It wasn't hearing, but a business meeting. Whatever you call it, today was the final public televised presentation from the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Today on the show, we'll review what the committee presented earlier and open the phones for your thoughts on the investigation and what happens next.

Today we salute the actions of the progressive activists who paved the way, focusing on one who was in the thick of it all. David Fenton's new book is "The Activist's Media Handbook: Lessons from Fifty Years as a Progressive Agitator". We'll discuss the history he was part of, and try to get to the bottom of why things are as they are now... David Fenton was there, working on the No Nukes concerts, in the campaign to free Nelson Mandela and end apartheid, legalize marijuana and end racist drug laws. He worked at High Times and Rolling Stone Magazine, and hung out with Abbie Hoffman and other legendary activists. I'm thinking our conversation will be part memories and reminiscences, and part primer to light a fire under the people who should carry the torch today and going forward.

This would be hysterically funny if it weren't so tragically sad! The attention whore Donald Trump was promoting a huge announcement for today, with people watching his sputtering newly-launched 2024 campaign wondering how he'll try to redeem himself. But that wasn't it at all! Donald Trump is, above all else, a con man. And today's actually not-so-big announcement was merely another way to bilk his followers of more money while showing absolutely no shame. It'd be quite amazing if it weren't so tragically sad! Perhaps Howie Klein will have a few things to say about Don's latest con. Or the recent polls showing TFG getting trounced in a 24 primary cage match by the other Floriduh man, Rhonda Santis. But I must revert to his other nickname, Governor Death Sentence, when I tell you about his newest con... trying to out wingnut TFG by announcing an investigation into the companies that created the Covid 19 vaccines (that saved millions of lives??), and his formation of a new anti-science alternative to the CDC and FDA. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried! I'm quite preoccupied with both of those surreal stories that cannot really be happening.... perhaps Howie Can tell us the latest about the former crypto-King, fighting extradition from the Bahamas, Scam Bankman Greed/Fraud.
