Nicole Sandler
Nicole Sandler has worked in radio her entire adult life. After a successful career in music radio in NY and Los Angeles (WPLJ, KLOS, KSCA and others), she returned to talk radio to host mornings on then-progressive talk WINZ/Miami. After a flip to sports, she moved to Air America Radio for a nightly show. When AAR went off the air on Jan 21, 2010, Nicole Sandler moved online where she continues to question authority daily at nicolesandler.com.

20210414 Nicole Sandler Show - Out of Afghanistan with Digby
Digby is my guest today. She wrote a great post (up at both digbysblog.net and Salon.com) about Joe Biden announcing we'll have our troops out of Afghanistan by 9/11, the 20th anniversary of that attack. I began the show talking about a few recent incidents of blatant racism, one of them featured a drill sergeant from Fort Jackson in South Carolina, attacking a young black man for simply walking down the sidewalk.

20210413 Nicole Sandler Show - Guns Down with Igor Volsky
The past month has been devastating when it comes to guns in America. I mistakenly thought that we had gotten a bit of a reprieve during the pandemic. Well, maybe there was break in school shootings-- because the kids were out of school! As the nation returns to "normal," it appears so too are the numbers of shootings returning to pre-COVID levels. I had already invited Igor Volsky, founder & director of Guns Down America (gunsdownamerica.org [http://gunsdownamerica.org/?fbclid=IwAR0h-sgHyrFltOeNIBxX1BSXz59H36LsFlUbgR1DBeOH-ODe4v0irsh_SJQ]), on the show for today, when the news broke yesterday about yet another school shooting, this one in Knoxville, TN. Enough already!

20210412 Nicole Sandler Show - Enough with the Guns Already and Meet My Congressman
It's Monday, the start of a new week, and things are really tense in Minnesota. The trial of the former cop who killed George Floyd enters its third week. And yesterday in Brooklyn Center, MN - about 10 miles away- a cop shot and killed another unarmed young Black man for no reason. And we learned about another cop abusing a motorist, this one in Virginia. We'll begin the show trying to make sense of what's happening in this country. Then we'll be joined by my Congressman Ted Deutch. He represents FL-22, and just recently saw the light regarding Medicare for All. I'll thank him for that, and chat with him about some of the other issues facing us today.

20210409 Nicole Sandler Show - About Joe Manchin with Robyn Kincaid and Jack Rice on Week Two of the Trial
We made it to the end of another week. This was week 2 of the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd. We'll check in again with Jack Rice, criminal defense attorney based in the Twin Cities and friend of the show, to wrap up the second week of testimony. But we'll begin with our Manchin problem. Joe Manchin, that is. I'll talk with Robyn Kincaid, a fellow progressive radio host who's lived her whole life in West Virginia to explain everything we need to know about the senator who seems bound and determined to keep good things from being passed into law.
